I say start both of them (Martin and Mapps) in the backfield, get rid of the "Pistol" formation, have Martin and Mapps come out of the back field for short screen passes while mixing up some "shove it down your throat" runs with a blocker. We are getting "pistol" whipped by our own offense. Pardon the pun.

Mapps does not deserve to start until he can hold onto the ball. Our running game has been as disappointing this year as our passing game has been surprising.

This might be the most dissapointing running game we have had post-DP.....
Until DMart puts his head down and stops dancing around behind the line, our offense cannot afford to give him the ball 50% of the time. He is not running like he was last year, and until he gets back to blowing through the line explosively we cannot rely on him.
Sir, shooting-star, sir. Frosh 2005 (TEN YEARS AGO!?!) The original Heavy Metal.
He is either still hurtin a little, scared of gettin re-hurt, or thinks he has to
bust a long one on every play to live up to last year.
He looks like that Texas Tech convert to SMU RB that was to do great
things, but got hurt in a car accident just before the season a couple of
years ago.
SApony, if you don't think Mapps should not start because of his ball handling issues, you should take into consideration that Willis has problems with holding the ball too. Willis is going to start and Mapps is deserving of a start but since fitz is a sr. he should start.
Fitz has been my favorite back this year. Martin has looked a little S-H-Y this year for whatever reason and hasn't done squat. I'd like to see Fitz get a lot of carries the last couple games.
