Hold a big watching party at the stadium club at Ford. Put the game on the TVs inside the club, as well as on the video screen in the stadium.
That would be a really cool place to watch an away game with only SMU fans in attendance.
Just a thought...

Great idea!
I'll see if I can figure out who would be the right person to ask about setting it up.

I have been advocating this for a long time, but can it be done with a CSTV video feed? The picture is so blurry on my computer at 17" I would think the stadium screen would only be a big glob. Or am I once again on a continuing basis showing my ignorance of technology? (that is meant to be rhetorical)

Bad news: no go on the stadium club in Ford.
Is CSTV showing the game? Would the Public House on lower Greenville pick it up again?

It is on the Rice CSTV All Access.

Well, you wouldn't be sitting 10 feet from the stadium screen, so it might look ok.

Why is this even being discussed?
If you live in Dallas.. you have NO REASON to NOT GO to Houston!! Everybody on here wants this team to be better, they [deleted], moan, want to "phire phil".. and now they're too lazy to drive 4 hours to the biggest game SMU has played in years?
I'll buy your ticket.. I'll give you a ride.. just don't sit at home and post a game thread on Ponyfans.com if you're within driving distance to Houston.
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

I brought it up in respect to ECU if I remember correctly. I think it is a worthwhile avenue to pursue. The avid goers will go to the game anyway. We need to get Dallas people interested in SMU. Any way to get them to watch a game would be good. This is the situation where I advocated selling beer and concessions and putting it on the big screen. We could always have "blackouts" for games close enough to travel easily, but for the farther ones I certainly think it would be a worthwhile pursuit.

Well.. as much as I respect your enthusiasm.. why would anyone want to watch SMU on a computer feed? I'd agree with you if we were on TV.. but if you really want to help out.. take them with you to the game.
I think watching any team on a computer feed can be very frustrating, unless you're a big fan.. and a patient one at that.

I mentioned that above. There would have to be a clear picture at least for the first half. If we are selling beer, then it can probably be blurry the 2nd half and not matter. In order to travel to all away games a person must have both the time and money. I have the money but not always the time. I would like to go to every game but can not. If a game were in Carolina or even El Paso and flight schedules either entail making it a 2 or 3 day trip rather than one day, or cost for better flight schedule was prohibitive, it would be nice to see the game in a good atmosphere. This is done at some of the bigger college basketball venues. I do not know if any football teams do this. I would always opt for "in person", but not everyone has that luxury. We are not going to get great TV exposure like the big boys do and I think, if worked properly it could be a marketing tool towards getting the Dallas populus back to knowing SMU exists.

You better not invite anybody over. Didn't you do that for the ECU game? And look what happened. Keep the bad karma away from your pad.

Nope. My company was for the Tulane game. I suffered ECU alone.

Then get Arkpony and Ponyte to your place. Pull out all of the stops just like the football team will.
By the way, it was great to meet you and the Mrs. on Saturday. Hope she had a great time. And see, I told you I would be there. And I even deleted the Ohio State-Michigan game off my dish.
