Actually, Orlando, Memphis and yes New Orleans are pretty nice destinations. Greenville, NC isn't bad, its near some nice golf courses. Our armpits: Huntington WV, Birmingham, Starkesville, all compare with Salt Lake City, Laramie and Ft. Collins. Albequerque and El Paso are equals.

I'm sorry, did you used to love going to New Orleans and hanging out in the Lower Ninth?

Everything 99.44% of New Orleans visitors ever cared about visiting is still there, intact, and waiting for you.

East, Miss State is in Starkville; USM is in Hattiesburg. (Not that there's much difference.)

Have you been to NOLA these days? If not, you should go. Seriously.

I went to the SMU/Tulane game and I don't want to go back.

This whole thread offends me . . . that other school from the west of Dallas, with some of the most cocky, cheap shotin', poor sportsmanship having players in the country seems to forget what 1-10 felt like....now they think 10 wins is a down year!? That is pure insanity! You guys went 11-1 last year . . . was that a down year as well??? 7-5, 6-6 that would be a down year for you guys (see 2004). To think that you are entitled something . . . is just stupid! You have to earn it. SMU is trying, but we have earned nothing yet. You guys have earned some national respect (and to be honest you will never get it from this football fan because of the attitudes that you display) but to say 10 wins is a down year for you guys is just . . . dumb! You are not A&M, or Nebraska, or Texas. Win like you are now for 2 decades (in a row) and then you might be on par with those teams, but until then, stop your dilusions of grandeur . . . please!
Sports, and all that implies.

A breath of fresh air in what respect? You just didn't like the schools here in this part of the country?

Love the schools around here, just think we are better served by aligning ourselves with some large western state schools. That might give us a little more leverage the next time things shake out.

I think the CUSA was great when we were in it, it was just losing Louisville, Cincy, Depaul et al that made it less palatable from a national perspective. We do hope you enjoy it though

Truth be told, we're glad you went, too. College sports isn't exactly a zero-sum game, but it's close, and we are not unhappy to see the decrease in TCU visibility versus what you'd get in a more regional/easterly conference; the increase in travel costs; and, most likely, the increase in losses for you up in that mountain air. Cheers!

P.S. Congrats on your basketball team improving in the second half on that 13-point first period. Haven't seen halftime totals like that since El Deano was running the Four Corners!

I heard TCU was outscored 25-0 by St Mary's at one point.

I was just there a week and a half ago. Where are the tourists?
