how many points did u want him to put up in the 2nd half? gees.... the tulsa world was going nuts about him, all the teams we have played have praised him, yet our own fans still dont think he's good enough... i guess we should have kept Cphil at QB, since most of you thought he was our future... haha that was silly
Listen, I like the guy and he's a big reason why we are where we are. I'm excited that there is so much room for improvement, but but come on you can't tell me you didn't see those guys running wide open last Saturday.
yah ofcourse i did... but i didnt have 280lb. dlinemen trying to take my head off, and didnt have the point of view willis had... i saw it like most of us did from up above, which is why players watch film and get a view they dont get during the game... he does have plenty of room for improvement and i think he would be the first to tell you that, but based on his copmletion % , td/int ratio, im very pleased with what ive seen and his decision making ability...

So can we agree that we are tickled pink with his freshman year and recognize the fact that he can get even better in the coming years?

Check Now if you are asking if I have an dislike for recruiting a whole stable full of slow, small QBs I'm guilty. Willis isn't slow. I definitely rode SMU for recruiting of Eric Johnson and Corey Slater but I don't believe I made similar comments about Willis who was a pretty high profile recruit. I really don't think I've made a single negative comment about Willis all year other than just play situation comments. He's just as much an example of how our performance improves by recruiting better more highly recruited players. Can't blame Rivals on this one.
eat your words about the majority of those guys being true freshmen... and we would all love 6'5, 230lb, 4.3, with a laser arm at qb

The ability to pick up the really wide open receivers is what is known as "upside." That is the thing that alot of us are really enjoying. The kid makes plays and is really in control out there. He has 3 more years to pick up the guys that are the wide open 3rd option. Just think how much better he will be next year.

You misunderstood my post-I was referring to BrianTinBigD's post yesterday in which he specifically compared Willis to some of the Top true Freshman QBs not necessarily on the list including Mustain, Tebow, Nate Davis, Stafford and Joel Freeman. See his post referring to those QBs. Those are the prominent names on the list to those that follow real College Football(with a Captal C) rather than MAC, WAC, Sun Belt and the other leftovers that are so bad they have to play freshman. I disagree that some of "those CITED" (not listed) are never going to produce because they aren't excelling as True Freshman.

Wasn't BrianTinBigD's post in response to the thread-branch of "2nd team freshman all American?" I think that's why those Freshman QBs were chosen.
