phil bennet 5 years at SMU and no bowl + rice 1 year and a bowl = new head coach at SMU.

You can't really compare Rice's one year of success to PBs 5 years at SMU. Rice over-acheived greatly and completly changed their play calling by switching to the spread type O. The brought in all new personal and had a great qb coach who has won on the college level. They had a breakout year from possible All-American Dillard who had a better game against us then Dwayne Jarrett had against ND.

Anyways, its totally different...I think PB should be given 1 more year. "If it aint broke, don't fix it." we became bowl eligible so no need to change now.

Don't judge Rice has having a turn around yet. UCF did this last year and look what happened. This off season, future Rice opponents will figure out how to stop him or limit his ability. Rice was only good because of him.
