Looks like the UCF game might fall somewhere around Thanksgiving week...right?
If this order is correct, I think you're right.

110 miles New Orleans to Hattiesburg, but MSY is on the west side of New Orleans, so probably more. Pretty good airline service to Gulfport...go to the casinos and drive 70 miles.

Stallion,
You're getting your JUCO DT and the young guys are coming along nicely. The DL won't be the problem next year.

hey I've heard that the young guys at DT are coming along. But a few of those guys didn't show it against UH when they got a chance. I also remember Jamar Bey and Dominck Pryor would be playing on Sundays. All I know is that they have only been playing on Monday through Friday. A questionmark may have potential but that's what they are until they prove it against real competition.

I enjoy visiting stadiums all over the country.
@Arkstate --- Fly Southwest to Little Rock and drive what an hour?
@TCU - easy drive
@Houston - easy drive
@Tulsa - Fly Southwest or drive @UCF - Is this in Orlando?
@So. Miss - Fly to New Orleans and drive an hour north east?
Yes, UCF is in Orlando. I sure hope that doesn't end up being a Mickey Mouse kind of game!

I see another 5-7 or 6-6 year. UTEP will be better next year. They have a stud waiting in the wings at QB - a transfer from Florida/Florida State (can't remember which) and their offensive line was gutted with injuries this year. And history dictates that we will go in the tank against an inferior team somewhere next year...........

I disagree. They will have lost Higgins their favorite and fastest WR and Sam (who I believe you were talking about) played WR this year with some passing activity. UTEP is going to continue to be awful, unless they can form some kind of defense. Their offense next year will be lacking as well.

Rice held SMU to 277 yards, their LOWEST total of the year.

The schedule isnt too bad, not really, 7-5 is kind of optimistic, but its achievable I think, but thats tops, players will really have to step up, 6-6 again sounds about right.
Hope not tho, 7-5 for me, bowl....i'm optimistic!
If you aint ever been there and done it then why is your mouth movin!!

We should be better next year. That assumes we are healthy and don't have players in jail/suspended for some numbskull activity.
This year, we lost our premier RB, our premier QB, two DE, one interior DL, a premier WR and a potent return specialist. WE had a pretty significant number of key players out at some point during the entire year. We had other players playing less than 100% as well. In the past, the loss of one or two of these players spells season ending disaster. Our team managed a .500 year. Also, we had young players get significant playing experience because we either had a big lead or we had an injury to fill.
I am not excited that we were 4 points away from a bowl. I am encouraged that we had some depth at key positions and that we will be returning several of those players that miss one or more games this last season.
