SHUT UP

Postby Dutch » Tue Nov 28, 2006 11:34 pm

was the announcement by Orsini in the DMN not good enough for 'you people'?

let it go.

let's focus on recruiting. or something. maybe basketball. i was in favor of a change, but what's done is done. it's not ANY of ours decision as to who is coaching - let's be honest with ourselves.

the AD's job is to make these decisions. and if he decides next week that he's found someone he believes can do a better job than the current coach - great - we'll have to live with it. until then we have to live with what we're given.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Right On -- SHUT UP EVERYONE!

Yeah why should there be any discussion or concern?

SMU has not been to a bowl game in 20 years.

SMU barely gets to 500 / gets one more win playing an easier schedule.

SMU gets pounded by North Texas State.

SMU loses to Rice with a rookie coach/staff/same academics/worse facilities.

Then it is announced that basically no changes will be made.

Gosh what is there to discuss?

Yes SMU fans "SHUT UP" and be happy as others continue to pass
us by and enjoy things like winning seasons and fun bowl trips!

Just smile and say "Maybe Next Year"!

Now let the orchestra play!

YOU SHUT UP AND LIVE WITH THIS CRAP EXCUSE OF A FOOTBALL TEAM.
IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH LOSING TO RICE AND NORTH TEXAS THAN YOU HAVE MORE PATIENCE THAN I DO.

OH. I'M SORRY. LET'S TALK ABOUT THE GREAT RECRUITS BENNETT IS GOING TO GET.
HE HAS SO MUCH TO OFFER FUTURE ATHLETES. LET'S SEE.... NO FUTURE BOWL IN SIGHT, NO MONEY, AND LOTS OF FANS WHO BELIEVE IT OR NOT DO NOT SUPPORT HIM. I AM SURE OUR FUTURE WILL BE BRIGHT..... YIPPEE....

One wonders, were the lights on the Titanic really bright enough to highlight the rivets at the bottom of the hull? Oh, sorry for the distraction... Fire (fill in the blank)!!!!!!

I'm sorry, I had trouble reading what you had written. There was too much SUN SHINING in my eyes.

Very nice, redraider/twogunsuppony: you want to be recognized as someone who wants success for the Ponies, yet you scream "no bowl in sight" and mock the recruits Coach Bennett is bringing in .... Josh LeRibeus doesn't do anything for you? Julian Herron? Jamell Kennedy? Terrance Ganaway? Logan Turner? Come on, according to the vaunted recruiting services and newspaper articles I've read, these guys are a big -- not huge -- step up over the players who used to get recruited here. Do your homework about them. The next Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson aren't coming to SMU yet, but you have to get good before you get great. Better players win more games, and more wins bring better players. The young guys in place now are better, and we broke even this year. I'm with you, we should have had a winning record and be planning our bowl trip now, but the improvement is there. You can not quit on a team that showed so much promise as this one did this year.

I agree SMUguy, though the record, in some peoples eyes, did not improve, the team did, watching this team compared to the 05 version was much improved. I am talking about during conference play too, not just the "gimme" games against Ark. St. and Sam Houston. We did loose to UNT, that is right, it happens . . Texas lost to Kansas State, Houston lost to Ulala . . . it happens . . . but when you are a team that is trying to build up, not get torn down by your own fan base, with young players, many playing in their 2nd meaningful game when they lost to UNT, they did get better over the course of the season.
Sports, and all that implies.

On a side note, check out those sharp uniforms. I hope Orsini will make us switch back to white helmets in the near future.

Ah yes, my shipmate Captain Smith is correct.

One suggestion - instead of the Band playing "Nearer My God to Thee," how about

1. We all joins hands and sing Kumbayah,

2. Click our heels three times and say, there is no place like home,

3. Think good thoughts and sing, "My Favorite Things,"

4. Have a Kool-Aid party with the newest flavor "Tropical Punch,"

Oh yes this will be a fun filled trip for all as we slowly sink in the abyss.
