Not to mention this year's red shirt class will come in and make just as big of a difference as last year's red shirt class made this year. I think we can count on winning a couple of games that people have penciled in as loses. Hype it up now...

I enjoy visiting stadiums all over the country.

@Arkstate --- Fly Southwest to Little Rock and drive what an hour?

@TCU - easy drive

@Houston - easy drive

@Tulsa - Fly Southwest or drive

@UCF - Is this in Orlando?

@So. Miss - Fly to New Orleans and drive an hour north east?
Yes, UCF is in Orlando. I sure hope that doesn't end up being a Mickey Mouse kind of game!

Looking forward to seeing some of you in Orlando next year.

I've been waiting for this game for a LONG time, how about you JP? I live about 5 miles north of UCF off of Alafaya (436). Bright House Stadium will be completed for the 2007 season as well barring any unforseen delays. My only wish is that this game were played earlier in the season..

FloridaMustang: Earlier in the season would be brutal. Hot & humid. Even at night. Later in the season will at least be more comfortable for the players and the fans.

You must not know much about Florida.. you see, it's pretty hot & humid year round, save for a few days in February if we're lucky.

Never lived there although I hear it's a lot like Houston's weather. Maybe SMU will get lucky and there will be a 'cool front' the weekend of the game against UCF.

I was thinking it would be better to play UCF in Orlando late in the season...so we don't have to worry about a hurricane cancellation

You know.. we survived this hurricane season without a single strike on the U.S. Here's hoping for the same luck next year...

Miami is more like Houston.. and I hate both cities equally. Orlando isn't too bad at all in November, I was exaggerating a little. It's the lack of any coastal breeze that makes it such an armpit though.. come to think of it, you might actually want to wish for a hurricane..

There were so many close games this year. The UTEP game (no Willis). The non-safety and late flag at ECU. Two long runs by Houston. Early sloppy turnovers in both Houston and Rice games. Two long pass plays by Rice (if either one incomplete, we're bowling). UNT game - keeping the handcuffs on Willis. Of course the same could be said the other way, too. Tulane we won by the skin of our teeth. UAB the non-fumble. We could have just as easily been 4-8. So, next year if we improve, we should win our games by bigger margins and lose fewer games.

assuming everyone works hard and improves, there is no question this team should be better next year...at least on the offensive side of the ball with almost everyone returning. I still want to hear that we've plugged that huge hole in the middle of the DL before I'm going to get optimistic that this team can win 7-8 games with next year's schedule. I doubt our competition will stand still, either.

Right now, that schedule tells me another 2-2 non-conf, 4-4 conf and 6-6 overall
