Hermann Trophy

SMU senior defender Jay Needham came in third behind Joseph Lapira of Notre Dame for the Hermann Trophy award as the year's best player. Lapira led the nation in scoring. The winner is decided by a vote of NCAA Division I soccer coaches who are current members of the NSCAA. Lapira is from Louisiana. We are going to miss Jay in the back next year.

Jay Needham and the other finalist from Boston College are both better than Lapira.

Congratulations, Jay, on a terrific senior season, and a great career at SMU. Best of luck in MLS!
