I get to go to this game and am looking foward to seeing Drew Tate, a texas product, but im not really excited about this match up.

Ive already seen UT play earlier this year against Ok.St. and then they had their melt down. Im looking foward to Mack getting another 10+ win season but i sure hope that Iowa can make this a good game.

The Alamo bowl is a low bowl for both conferences. Texas got knocked out of the more prestigious bowls by A&M, OU, Nebraska, and West Virginia. So they go to the next one down the list and that's the Alamo. Honestly I don't think they're that much better than Iowa.

Yes, Iowa had an off year with Tates injury and the reemergence of Wisconsin and Michigan...

I was at last years Alamo bowl match up of Michigan and Nebraska and this sure wont be as good of a game than last years was.

If you are going to put a UT guy on your board at least put up a good one. Nobody ever heard of "bad tatoo boy".

And Mack ain't all that amazing. UT has ever advantage - that it took that long to actually realize any success is amazing, and embarrassing. How the best talent lost three this year (and maybe four) is what is amazing.

OK I'll bite-UT is a much better team than Iowa as long as their QB is healthy. Top 10 caliber.

I wouldn't have believed anyone if they had told me at the beginning of the season that through 10 games Texas would still be in the title hunt this year with a red shirt freshman at the helm. Alas, this was the case, though. It's crazy how much of a presence he has when he is on the field. Same with Willis. These two kids are going to do really great things for their respective programs.

Hopefully Colt will be healthy for the Alamo Bowl. If not, I'm sure we'll still be fine, but it'll be a much closer game with him out of the lineup. We'll see.

I don't know why you would be. The guy is a mellon head. He holds one of the few honors as one who was kicked off his high school all-star team, the THSCA to be exact.

And his career at Iowa was very mediocre. He had blowups just about every week this year. He was very quick to point the finger. He was one of the major reasons the Hawkeyes fell apart. Him and woeful DB speed.

All you have to do is look at the final drive of the first half against Minnesota to know what he's all about. Makes good throws to get them to the Gopher 4 and then throws an absolutely ridiculous interception at the Minnesota 1 to kill the momentum.

Texas should eat them alive unless they aren't interested in playing the game.

And let's remember, Fran told him to take a hike after he got the A&M job despite the fact it was spun that he chose to de-commit.

Purdue -- Champs Sports
Iowa -- Alamo
Penn State -- Outback
Wisconsin -- Capital One
Michigan -- BCS Rose
Ohio State -- BCS Championship Game

Looks like 7-0 to me

Which is it? I notice you don't show who those teams are playing. Let's take a look:

Minnesota vs Texas Tech - Possible Loss
Purdue vs Maryland - Probable Loss
Iowa vs Texas - Probable Loss
Penn State vs Tennessee - Probable Loss
Wisconsin vs Arkansas - Probable Loss
Michigan vs USC - Possible Loss
Ohio State vs Florida - Possible Win

Looks like 1-6 or 2-5 to me. At best I see 3-4. Sorry, but the Big 10/11 is over matched in all but one of those games. We'll see.

I agree. I think Ohio St. and Michigan will probably win, and Purdue/Maryland is a toss up. The rest should be slight to heavy underdogs. I think Middle Tennessee St. should also count towards the Big 10 bowl record, since they had to fill their spot.

You overrate their opponents too much. Maryland isn't anything special. ACC was bad this year. Tennessee has too many QB problems and their running defense is soft. Arkansas is imploding right now, and they also have their own QB problems.

Michigan can beat USC. Ohio State will beat Florida.

I think the two definite losses are Minnesota (hate to say it) and Iowa. I said 7-0 because I want the conference to win all the games. Optimism.

But when it comes to these bowls, the X-factor is if your team wants to be there. And we know Texas didn't want to be there when it played Washington State in the Holiday Bowl.

I didn't put the bowl opponents in because I apparently ran out of characters. How did you do that with your Avatar?

Losing competitive games to LSU and Florida is not "imploding".

The reason didn't fill the Motor City bowl slot was because Michigan and Ohio State went to the BCS. That created the opening.

By the way, that's two consecutive years the Big 10 has sent two teams to the BCS. No other conference can say that. I know the SEC has two this year with LSU and Florida.
