If they win, it'll validate that program nationally. But if they get blown out (and they might) it'll look like all those conference wins were meaningless and will hurt every other non-BCS school who has a good record like that in the future.

I'm glad we're in the CUSA. I'm sorry TCU left. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come back in a few years.

ha, that'll be the day.

They feel like they're better than us and didnt want to have anything to do with us being in the same conference as them

Or we saw that aligning ourselves with some large western state schools is better for our long term viability as a D-1 school. I'm pretty sure you guys coming into the league wasn't a factor in TCU's decision. Losing Louisville, Cincy, Depaul, et al however, probably was a bigger issue.

CUSA and it's western division in particular is a good place for SMU to be. Short of a re-born SWC featuing SMU, TCU, UNT, Baylor, UTEP, Houston, Rice and (you pick the rest)...it's clearly the best option for SMU riht now.

As for any talk of TCU and the WAC or MWC vs CUSA and which is the better conference...who cares? As long as we get to play the frogs every year in addition to our CUSA schedule, I'm happy. None of these conferences, as we know them today, are going to be designated "BCS" conferences under today's rules.

Things don't stay the same. SMU's task is to continue improving and to try to win back some fans and generate some interest in our athletic programs. We are still at the bottom of the barrell in comparison to most teams from any of these 3 conferences and that's a fact...whether we care to admit it or not.
