Wrong Stallion - they score alot and they have pulled off several upsets - but they have never won consistantly, never won any really big games with all the advantages of a BCS conference, a huge school and not so tough academic standards - exactly what limitations are you talking about? If you mean being in Lubbock, that is not much of a limitation compared with other locals - (Stillwater, College Station, etc..) - they should have done more with what they have - watch O.K. State if you want to see an overachiever this year. By the way - I think we will get thumped in Lubbock - I never said we would even give them a game - everything went right for us last year and we lost by 10 at home - I just think they talk like their OU, and they are way under OSU. I usually agree with you Stallion - read more carefully before you call people idiots.

once again you are an IDIOT-haven't won any big games? -they have beaten every team in the Big 12 except Nebraska in the last 3 years-'nuff said. They have 10 victories in the last 3 years greater than our best victory in the last 15 years. Get a clue.

Incorrect. In the past 3 years they are 0-1 vs. Colorado, 0-1 vs. Iowa State, 0-2 vs. Nebraska, and 0-3 vs. Oklahoma.

They are 1-1 vs. both Kansas State and Kansas (lost to 3-8 Kansas at home in 2001*), 1-0 vs. Missouri, 3-0 vs. Baylor and Oklahoma St., 1-2 vs. Texas and 2-1 vs. Texas A&M.

* I only point this out to show that every team can be beaten, no matter how much talent they have, or whatever their reputation is. That is why they play the games.

OK missed by one year-they have indeed beaten every team in the Big 12 in the last 4 years except for Nebraska. Heck they have beaten the Aggies 6 out of the last 8 games and Texas 3 years out of the last 6 - all of which are bigger wins than SMU has won in 15 years. That speaks for itself-Texas Tech has OVER-achieved more than any team in the Big 12 perhaps other than K-State.

....Oh BTW your comment about OSU being overachievers but not Tech-funny its hard to explain how Tech has beaten OSU 6 out of the last 7 years.

Which is why we can't understand why OSU is being so hyped up. Check out their schedule...I can't find seven wins there, let alone nine like the media keeps saying.

First of all - I never compared them to us - IDIOT - I say they are underachieving in the big 12 based on what they ought to have done with their advantages, certainly related to how their fans act and boast. Yes they have upset some teams, (always coupled with losing games they should be winning if they are in the top few teams of the big 12) - but I have a simple question -name the football championships they have won? Thats what I thought. By the way I said if you want to see an overachiever THIS YEAR - watch OSU. They will both beat us IMO, but I am much more scared of OSU because it seems to me they have more talent - we will see. Pay better attention you puffed up windbag. And stop calling fellow mustangs IDIOTS just because they disagree with you - its very state school.

OK, I am not seeing the strength in the argument about beating every team in the Big 12 over the last 4 years. Its not worth a dime unless they do it in one year. And for you Techsters out there, you will lose to OSU this year. Congrats on the last 3 but this year, your pathetic D will not stop that offense. Stallion, do you tell yourself how smart you are everyday? Cause if not you should. I mean, anyone who is right about so many things ought to know what a gift he has. I for one will never doubt a word you say, simply because you are THE "Stallion." In fact your insight and football knowledge are the sole reason I visit this board. I used to have other reasons but they have been overpowered by your incredible wisdom. Please dont stop enlightening us daily, because if you did, my life would have no direction. That being said, I think SMU can beat Tech in Lubbock, this year. In fact here's a score prediction..... SMU-35 Tech-31

Hey Stallion boy.....who are you pulling for in the SMU-Tech Game?

Don't give us any of that lawyer spin talk, just answer the question!

I can't wait till SMU is pounding Texas Tech year in and year out once Bennett has a few more seasons under his belt.

Hey recruit would you rather play in Dallas or Lubbock?

Hey recruit where would you rather work after graduation Dallas or Lubbock?

Ha Ha Ha

Speaking of that....Stallion where did you decide to work after you graduated?

Stallion you better be wearing an SMU shirt at the game or you will never get my respect!

O.K. I will confess that I also agree we "can" beat TTech. Not likely, but we certaily have a shot. Tech will be tougher this year than last simply because they are on their home turf and we earned their respect last year at Ford. They will not take this game lightly and anyone who thinks they have a QB problem did not watch their bowl game last year. They've got a good group of recievers and their OL returns in tact. No question we will be, and should be, a huge underdog.

But...that doesn't mean we "can't" win. SMU will have to play a near perfect game, control the clock with a stonger running game than we showed last year...and most important...Bartel must step up and convert on 3rd downs to keep drives alive so we can score. This will be a game where SMU will have to outscore Tech to win. I'm talking about something like 33-31 (and yes, that means we have to kick 4 FGs). It's hard to imagine that much offensive improvement in one year's time, but I'm not going to rule it out. This time of year I am a huge optimist. I certainly don't expect to beat TTech, but I won't say it can't happen. Since I won't get to Big D until the UTEP game, I'm just hoping we are not 0-4 at that point. Any wins in Sept will mark an improvement over last year and that's what is important as Bennett continues to rebuild this program.

The field goals will be there this year. McMurtray and Wolcott look miles better than McMurtray and Stephenson did last year. Wolcott will push McMurtray, which will make them both better. For the first time in years, our kicking game will be a weapon this year, not a liability.

I have a feeling that Stallion will wear TT colors since they are favored. If SMU wins he can always take of his TT shirt revealing his SMU shirt underneath. Like any good lawyer he will be hedging his bets. Am I right Stallion?
