You have won dinner for two at Bennihana. You will have to share this prize with Big11PonyFan. As a precaution, all Ginsu knives will be removed from the dining area where you two will be seated.

At the Holiday Bowl, the coaches shouldn't have let the first team defense start drinking champagne on the sidelines before the game was over. That was a really bad call by Ron Meyer.

Now ponyte, did that include a little side trip to Tijuana? 'Cuz I heard the drinking spot of choice for the '83 Sun Bowl was Juarez, and that the reason we played so badly is that the boys did it up right the night before the game.

Ahhh, Tijuana. That may have a place in this story. That was one fine week in southern California. All but the last 18 seconds or so of that game. Actually, I was in bed on time not only the night before the game but the night before that one as well. Mainly because my trip to Tijuana made me too sick to continue my mission of night time discoveries in San Diego.

Many alcohol related cobwebs from the three days we were there. Mustang Club arrived on Thursday morning. Our seats were very close to the sideline. It looked to us like one of the late BYU touchdowns very obviously bounced before it was caught right in front of the referee.
Regardless, it was still a great time. First bowl game since 68 at that time.

I was the only girl with 5 guys...we somehow convinced our parents we had to fly into Las Vegas...after some pregame gambling we drove to San Diego in a rented Lincoln Towncar...so foggy we could barely see the hood of the car...oh, the good old days....
