This can not be true.....we were told by various posters that he would not come here because he wanted to wait for his son to graduate first....and our posters are never ever wrong.

Obviously, Riley is going to go to NTSU, but I am not that worried about too many kids committing to NTSU from Southlake. Most folks I know in Southlake would scoff at the idea of their kids going there.
That being said, I have a feeling Dodge won't have too much trouble recruiting from the area.

You still have to sell the education to recruits.........

All you out of state high school coach bashers have no clue. Southlake is not just some high school. By the way-A HIGH SCHOOL COACH JUST WON THE CONFERENCE USA TITLE. The coach with all that experience got smoked by a bad UNT Team.

I believe Dodge is 77-1 with the only loss coming in the final second of a 1 point game in the Texas State Championship on a missed FG or was a it a made FG can't remember but it was the last play of the game in a 16-15 game. Otherwaise, the Man is perfect 78 in a row.

It's a different situation though. Briles cut his teeth in the college ranks as Texas Tech's running backs coach for three years before getting his Head gig. SO HE WASN'T LIKE DODGE, HE SPENT TIME WORKING HIS WAY UP!!
Here's to those that wish us well and all the rest can go to hell!!!

and Dodge has been a Coach in Division 1A too at North Texas. Look you people thinking Todd Dodge is not ready for this job are in for a real surprise. Todd Dodge has College Coaches learning from him. And quite frankly Art Briles resume doesn't compare to Todd Dodge.-no high school coaches' resume does.

I heard this on the ticket as well, but I think his success next year will be determined more on recruiting than his 2007 record at NTSU. Frankly I am surprised NTSU got him, but I do wish him and NTSU the best, except of course when we suit up against them!
Go Stangs, Beat the Mean Green!!!
Sports, and all that implies.

Kind of like Mahlzon at Arkansas. He is a high school coach but he literally wrote the book on the spread offense taking a small private school to the 3A State Championship and then a 5A to the State Championship. He will not be an OC very long and will be a very successful Div 1A coach in my opinion. He will move up with about the same experience that Dodge has at this time.

What a shame, guess he doesn't love his son..........j/k
Great hire for UNT, kinda surprised he didn't shop around more, heck if he waited around another year he could make some real money at smu

Don't forget he was the startering QB at Texas. Don't think Briles was.

Damn it...I thought I was really in the running for the job after I applied through UNT's website.
I guess my comments about being able to bring in 5 star recruits in the bunchs on NCAA football 07 didn't impress them enough

Huge sigh of relief heard all the way from Fort Worth. They did not want us getting Dodge I can tell you that. I am getting used to our role as the fat ugly bridesmaid.
