I have always admired the man and I miss seeing he and his wife at basketball games. I pray for healing, peace and comfort for Mr. Hunt and his beautiful wife.

Mr. Hunt, Lamar, watched almost all of his Mustang's game the Saturday before being hospitalized on Thanksgiving. I meant to tell him how glad we were to see him at the game. Glad the team could give him a win. He is a great man and great Mustang. Given his interest in his professional football club, he still made it to most of the Mustang football games.

One of the nicest men I ever met, everyone can learn something from him.

Based on just a brief conversation with his wife, I'd say all of us can follow his lead in the way he puts his family first.

Team owners should dream of being as passionate about winning, strong in their beliefs of what is the right way to do things and steadfast in the right way to treat their employees and fans.

All of us should be as loyal and dedicated to constantly striving for success and excellence for our alma mater.

To quote Mountain Mustang: Miracles do happen and if anyone ever "deserved" one Mr. Hunt would be at the top of the list.

Well said, MM. Best wishes to Lamar and his family.

An AFL fan from the beginning

I was in school at SMU when Hunt founded the AFL and the Dallas Texans. Only after he set up a local pro football franchise did the NFL decide to counter his move by giving Dallas the Cowboys. We were all AFL fans back then and thought that the wrong team had left town for Kansas City in 1963. Mr. Hunt has served Dallas very well and there should be a statue of him on campus or something important named after him. May we all be such good stewards of what we own and what we do in life.

I met him when the he upgraded Ownby for his soccer team. He was out watering the grass to make sure the field was ready. For all his wealth, he was quite humble and was happy to take a few minutes to talk with a student while he was watering the grass.
