The other half swear that hiring Todd Dodge will somehow damage SMU. Let's be honest. SMU is an afterthought in DFW...as is North Texas, for now. I enjoy bashing SMU because you're on our level...just like Middle Tennessee State or Arkansas State. Don't tell me you're not because you had your chance to prove otherwise in Denton this season and got spanked.

My point is that you should be more concerned with the direction of your own program. You have a beautiful stadium that we would kill for. You're in the heart of Dallas. Willis will be a special player. North Texas fans and administrators realized long, long ago that our future will not be dictated by what SMU does. Same goes for you guys. Let's try to realize that the real enemy is a media biased toward UT, aTm or whomever else they can drop to their knees and blow.

I can't disagree with what this guy says. Often I don't understand why the condescending tone to a program that is fighting for respect just as we are. This isn't the 80's anymore and like it or not, UNT is a peer, not an inferior program. Wake up to reality.

If you hold a degree from SMU and hold it up as a peer degree to NTSU then not only did you pay too much for an education, but reality is not even within your grasp.

And we'd be reading the same bunch of garbage that's been coming off your keyboard or blackberry then as we are now. In other words, nothing would change. It would all be about models and yada, yada, yada.

The same boring stuff we've been reading now for year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year....well, you get the idea.

wah! wah! wah!. look I'm sure there is some clear evidence based upon RPI and Sagarin ratings that backs up my opinion that while SMU was winning 3, 0, 3 and 3 games and NTSU was going to bowl games and even beating CUSA representative that they had much higher ratings than SMU. I don't believe I'm wrong about that. That's clearly my recollection. I seriously doubt SMU could have beaten NTSU any of those years in Denton.

Speaking of NTSU vs. SMU, whatever happened to meangreengem or whatever his sign-on name was? Did his mother take his computer away. He was always good for 2 or 3 pages per post.

Since we didn't play we'll never know. But if we are talking about the past, I do now we are 27-3-1 all-time against NTSU, which qualifies as are best winning percentage against any other school.

yeah and we won a Heisman Trophy, went to the Rose Bowl, won SWC Championships and Cotton Bowl. See what a great legacy has been destroyed. I don't see any relevance of ancient history to whether NTSU and SMU program's are relatively equal over the last 6 years. I'd give the nod to the Mean Green

Who cares what North Texas may or may not have done against SMU in the past?
IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE IT DIDN't HAPPEN.
You might think you know what would have transpired, but you can't say so for sure. THAT'S WHY THEY PLAY THE GAMES. Otherwise what's the point; if Sagarin ratings meant everything they wouldn't play the games!!! Your opinion doesn't allow for the possibility of upsets if SMU was ranked below UNT. Don't forget this year UNT upset us.

Why should we waste any more time talking about this stupid subject???

Wah? Wah? Wah? Is that the best you can do?

You have absolutely no evidence to support this. As long as this Sagarin, RPI baloney supports your argument, you just go ahead and throw some ridiculous opinion that makes about as much sense as Iran recognizing Israel.

This a pathetic argument. I can't believe you had the nerve to pile this dribble out there.

And NTSU beat Cincinnati when we were still in the WAC so that doesn't fly either.

Big 10 let me suggest that instead of [deleted] me off in your state of perpetual denial you instead try to learn something about college football. In fact, NTSU has had a lower(as in better) Sagarin Rating in 4 of the last 6 years:

2001
NTSU 103
SMU 105

2002
NTSU 63
SMU 149

2003
NTSU 73
SMU 174

2004
NTSU 102
SMU 126

2005
NTSU 161
SMU 88

2006
NTSU 152
SMU 88

Now considering that one of the GREAT post DP teams-the GREAT 2006 SMU Mustangs couldn't beat NTSU in Denton when it was rated 64 places higher than NTSU then I think its fair to say that it is very probable that NTSU would have beatedn SMU 3-4+ times if they were playing a home and home schedules. In two years NTSU was rated 101 teams higher and 86 teams higher respectively than poor old Phil Bennett's SMU Mustangs-logically years when NTSU would have beaten us.

PS which one is more embarrassing the fact that the NTSU program has been better than SMU over the last 6 years or that the BEST that SMU could do in a 6 year period is No. 88? Put that in your importance of recruiting file.

Close you're eyes-the King isn't wearing any clothes. I love it you guys can simply not acknowledge that our program is below the NTSU line.
