Ganaway fan. I want to thank you for all the updates you have provided. Please do not take the comments on this board as personal attacks on you or Terrance. I would assume that we would still like to have Terrance on our team unless the coaches changed their mind for some unknown reason. We all get frustrated when we lose good players to other teams, especially our direct competition. Terrance needs to go where he sees best for him, but I hope he realizes (and if he does not now he will in the future) that people will sell him whatever he wants to hear if it will get his attention. Hopefully he can sort out the sincere vs. the insincere. He needs to figure what school will provide him with the best future beyond football as opposed to what position he will play when he is in college. The position will work itself out. If he is best at RB that is where he will play. If he is best at DB that is where he will play, regardless of where he goes. The question that he should consider is what school will provide him with the proper tools with which to face life after college. No problem with Rice but I would certainly prefer SMU. Tell him good luck and again, take nothing we on this board say personally.

Good luck wherever you go, Terrance.

As I mentioned several weeks ago, word was our coaching staff did not hit a lick (this includes the warm & fuzzy calls) in recruiting from the week of the Houston game through Rice as we were concentrating on winning games. My hope is that JJ can pass along tips regarding ongoing contact with our commitments and working with uncommited recruits. Multi-tasking if you will.

I've got a new confirmation from the Houston Chronicle that Ganaway switched his commitment to Rice. Ganaway; "I'm trying to play next year'referring to the gridlock in the Pony backfield. "I just want a shot, a chance. I don't know if this is my final decision I'm just going to pray about it" BTW Ganaway is the newphew of Philadelphia Eagle LB Jeremiah Trotter.

Well Demyron can't stay healthy, they don't give Dorsey the ball enough, Fitzgerald gets the backup role and gets a little injured and never carries the ball again, Mapps stands out in 1 out of every 4 games and Fred Turner gets few carries and has a history of putting the ball on the turf.

Yeah, our backfield is a damn zoo of talent that should make people decommit.

Terrence's mom and Jeremiah are brother and sister. Terrence is the 9th of 11 siblings. Jeremiah is one of the reasons SFA recruited him so hard, but I think Terrance wanted the opprtunity to attend a "bigger" school. From what I hear, the SFA coach that recruited Terrance is now the offensive coordinator at Iowa St., and that is how Iowa St. became interested and offered Terrance.

By the way, not sure if he has ever made an unofficial visit, I assume he has, but Terrance has never even had an official visit to SMU. It really surprised me that SMU had not arranged this if they were so interested. But, I guess this is where a couple of the guys come back with the "honoring your commitment" garb.

I hope his prayers are answered because that is about the only authority you can trust in recruiting. The 3 Arkansas kids whose parents met with Broyles are screaming about the promises made to them that are not being kept. Daimon Williams has ask for and gotten his release and although Mustain and Cleveland say they are staying, they also say their minds are not totally made up at this time. As I stated in a previous post, Terrance needs to make his decision based on his future as a person in the real world, and not based on any so called promises made by recruiters. There is no guarantee that the coach that recruits a player will even be at the school by the time the kid enrolls.

Respectfully, and I do mean respectfully...why did Terrence accept SMU's offer? If you mean by not taking a visit, Terrance had never been to the campus? Really? That just doesn't sound like Bennett & Staff. Don't they make a big ta-do about their summer camps? As for official visits, it is as incumbent on him to make the effort as it is the coaches. Not knocking him; he is clearly an exceptional player and student. However, he accepted the offer to come to SMU very early. What was SMU, the fallback? That would suggest that he was as enthused about being at SMU as you suggest SMU was about keeping him. I still hope that SMU wins out; however, this isn't fraternity rush, and even in rush, both sides ought to be each other's first choice.
