Steve Morrow, former Arsenal (England) and Dallas (MLS) defender, was named the fourth head coach in FC Dallas history Monday. Morrow most recently served as an assistant coach with the Hoops for the past two years. I do not know how serious Schellas was about this job but the selection of Morrow is fantastic news for the SMU program.

Welcome back Coach! I guess I can get some rest now. After all, this is the one futbol coach no one associated with SMU wanted to have to find a replacement for. Here's to winning a national championship in 2007!

I don't know what everyone thought would happen. Coach would have taken another swift kick to the man pride before he would have left the Hilltop for the Pizza Butt Park.
Go Mustangs

If you know Coach Hyndman and his martial arts expertise, such kicks don't even make him blink.

barring any unfortunate injuries, these have to get done:
1) Balanced/reliable scoring attack
2) Replace holes in the defense
3) Start Stephen Grant every game
4) Give the ball to Paulo/Bruno
if we execute 1-4, expect a better season in 2007

Aren't #'s 1 + 4 and #'s 2 + 3 basically the same? Just my opinion. Of greater concern to me is replacing Chase out on the left. It seems to me that we lost, in mynor and chase, our only true lefties and left-footed FK options. I'm sure either harwell or corbin could fill in, but it would be unnatural and the crosses would need work. Chase was pretty clutch with pinpoint crosses and huge goals throughout the season, and will surely be missed.

If we do not lose any of our top returning players to transfer, grades, injury, etc., we will have a championship quality nucleus for 2007. We will not know exactly how strong we are until August when we have our new recruits as well as any surprise top quality transfers. Remember the past season when both Harwell and Chevannes returned to the fold and we picked up Geppert and Shuleva as transfers. Four key players who were not around last Spring. It will be interesting to see how the 2007 team shapes up.

#'s 1 and 4 are definitely synonymous but had to be thrown out there. As for losing Wileman on the left, I'd say there are bigger concerns. We have a surplus of players who need to step up to the plate and produce this year, these guys need quality time: Corbin (needs to be used a lot more as a senior next year), Grant as per above post, Jaime, and we gotta get Dane the ball to see what he can do. Leone and maybe Chevannes/Robin-Hood? in the back. Of course this is my take and disagreement will most likely follow
