Did he leave the game on his own accord or was he told to leave? That sure was an ugly sight on the bench tonight

Word in the stands was that he was told by coach Doh to 'hit the showers'.

After the game Doherty said that he had told the players to get the ball inside and not take any 3 point shots until they had done so. Evidentally, Roberts jacked up a 3 without looking inside and Doherty told him his day was done!

i don't know the guys personally, but i've been to a lot of games this and last year, out of all the guys that this could happen to, it'd have to be roberts. his facial expressions/body language indicate a weird vibe that i could see might get to a head coach after being ordered to do something. i wasn't at the game tonite but i would imagine roberts puttin up a 3 and acting like it wasn't a big deal that he disobeyed his head coach could drive a determined guy like doherty to send him to the showers

Couldn't he have just kept him on the bench the rest of the game?
It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.

Yes, and we could remove Christmas Trees from your airport so nobody gets their feelings hurt, but sometimes it is best just to do the right thing that represents the proper method of either celebration or discipline.

But didn't Doh's style of discipline cause him some problems at UNC?

Yes, they caused problems at UNC, but these are not the same prima donna recruits/players that think they run the show.

Seattle was able to put the Christmas trees back

And Doh's tempering it better. I like this move. Let's hope Roberts is a big enough man to take the message and better himself.

Thus the right thing was done in both cases.

Anyone else notice how much better the entire team concentrated after Roberts got sent off?

Doh said that on reflection he might have handled the situation a little different. He was going to have a talk with Derrick last night.
