POOR COVERAGE!

Postby ALEX LIFESON » Sun Dec 17, 2006 9:13 am

Sports Day could only give SMU a paragraph, in the basketball briefs. Very week.

if you looked at aTm you would notice that they only got a short paragraph b/c they played a week team..

Kate hairopolous have been doing an unbelievable job all year... we were playing centenary, who cares about that.. if you wanted to know more you should have listened to teh game on the radio...

don't call out kate b/c she had a short story on a game that means nothing

He did listen to the game. See Alex's post 770AM. SMU and Doherty deserve better coverage from the local paper.

If I were an Aggie fan, and lived in Bryan it would be different, but like SMU I am in Dallas. I think Kate has done a great job, but it not her decision what goes in the paper. I think I will do what most paying customers do, I will call 214-977-8444 and let them know about my disappointment. I listened to the whole game and post game show, I just want MY team to get as much coverage as possible.

I don't think that was Kate's story on the Centenary game, was it?

If Kate covered the game, her name would have appeared as a tagline, such as

xxxx
xxxx
xxxx
-- Kate Hairoplous

No one went. The DMN just took wire copy.

Kate Hairopoulos is juggling several beats now (i.e. bowl games, etc.), so not going to Shreveport is fairly justified -- she does a good job.

Really, Kate isn't doing any better than Calvin ever did. Calvin would at least ask a difficult if not tough question now and then.

I guess I'll need to begin documenting the basketball coverage for all of the media whiners on the basketball board.

Clearly the reason we cannot get recruits and better facilities is the lack of coverage in the Morning News. Hmmm, wait a minute.....

1,350 people of us actually cared enough to go ourselves. Pretty ridiculous argument if you ask me. As long as NCAA Football and Basketball keep allowing this parade of "preseason" blowouts between schools who have no business playing each other then I HOPE ALL FANS of ALL SCHOOLS decide to stay home. I damn sure ain't going to go watch SMU play Blind Man's Bluff CC.

Will you guys every stop with the DMN [deleted]? A game attended by a few hundred people doesn't warrant coverage to send someone out. I am sure you will find coverage for our 3 homes games coming up - even though they are all cupcakes.

How hard is it to quote from the post game or to make a phone call to the coach? The team is 8-1 after all. I think that deserves something. 8)
