Matt Doherty Radio show begins Jan. 8 on KAAM (770 AM)

* It will start Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. on KAAM (770 AM). It's on one hour early because of the Ohio State-Florida game.

* Every subsequent show will start 7 p.m. on Mondays at Ten Sports Grill on Field and Main in downtown Dallas. There will be valet parking.

* Every show will be for one hour. Doherty will take calls and there will be a mic for fans there to ask questions.

* The show will run for 12 consecutive weeks through the end of the NCAA basketball tournament -- at least that's the talk right now.

* Rich Phillips will be the host.

* This is a product of ISP that was trying to get a Bennett show going but the timing didn't work out for that.

Note: ISP played a major role in the new scoreboard coming to Moody.

interesting choice of venue. i would be concerned about hearing crickets in the background. i wonder if they considered First and 10 or a place closer to campus and where the hard core alums generally live. dont get me wrong, I want smu to reach out to the broader market, just dont want the thing to flop and be one and done.
