"I’ll play anywhere they put me at. I just want to play football. I bring good quickness and I can make plays on the run." -DeKalb athlete Terrance Ganaway
With that attitude, you'd think he'd be okay with playing safety, oh well
Again, I agree to an extent, but that was also before he rushed for 2,800+ yds. and 36 TD's as a Sr. And, another way to look at the quote you present......he doesn't sound like a kid who wants to be redshirted a year to me.

confirmation by Rivals of switch to Rice. He said SMU is "really stacked up at Running Back". Said he might consider Iowa St. but they haven't offered. No mention of UH. Check out the clip that's been going around. Seriously, I've always questioned whether his game translates from 2A to Division 1A. He just doesn't seem to have the speed to play RB in Division 1A. Think the Coaches just might be correct on this one.

There are actually 4 or 5 clips if you Video Google Terrance Ganaway. As far as wheter he is fast enough, that remains to be seen. Not all successful D-I RB's run 4.3 or 4.4 40's.
I really do hate that he is not going to SMU. I would love to see him as a Pony. Maybe it is lack of production by small town backs like Cedric Dorsey that makes Coach Bennett shy away from RB's like Terrance. In my opinion, coming out of high school, Terrance is a much better back than Dorsey was and I think he will end up a much better college RB. It is no secret that I am a 100% Terrance Ganaway supporter, but I have witnessed for 3 years what this kid can do with a football in his hands.
I am now hoping that maybe in the next 2 or 3 years, you guys will get to see him on the football field first hand. And, I am hoping you won't like what you see.

Respectfully, if he isn't in a Mustang uniform, then I hope he doesn't like what he is staring up at as he is flat on his back in his backfield...

I can definitely agree he is an awesome 2A talent. Unbelievable career at DeKalb. I'm interested to see how he turns out-just not convinced. I'm extremely skeptical of 2A players.

AP honors DeKalb’s Ganaway again
Wednesday, December 20, 2006 9:02 AM CST
Senior was named Offensive Player of the Year for second season
From Staff and Wire Reports
DeKalb senior Terrance Ganaway became one of the Associated Press Sports Editors’ most honored high school football players Tuesday when he was named the 2A Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season.
The AP released its 17th annual 2A All-State Teams, and four area players, including Ganaway were recognized on the top two teams.
Ganaway was a first-team selection on offense and defense. Paul Pewitt senior center Cullen Hightower was also a first-team pick, while New Boston senior running back Josh French and Hughes Springs senior punter Tanner Smith were second-team selections.
Only regular-season statistics are considered in the selection of the AP Teams.
Ganaway, who is being recruited heavily by several NCAA Division I schools, finished the year with 2,815 yards and 36 touchdowns. He also holds school records for a career with 6,562 yards and 71 TDs. The Bears’ senior standout had 93 tackles and 6 interceptions this season.
“Terrance deserves every honor,†DeKalb coach Buddy Ray said. “He deserved to make it both ways. Farmersville held him to 130 yards, but some people forget he had 13 tackles and an interception, too.
“I know he’s verbally committed to Rice, but there’s a lot of people talking to him now, particularly Rice. He told me he was going to sit back during the holidays and consider his options.â€
Ganaway started 34 games at running back during his career, finishing with 10 games over 200 yards, five games over 300 yards and one with more than 400 yards.
“I’ll tell you what epitomized his career to me,†Ray said. “He threw an interception on the last play of his career and the kid ran the ball out of the end zone and appeared to be on his way for a touchdown until Terrance ran him down from behind.â€
