Looks like an early line is set at OU - 7.5.

Not sure Vegas has seen us play, but our reboundung is probably getting people a little scared.

So how good is this OU team. I scouted them on the internet a little but haven't seen them play. No. 96 in RPI, doubled up TCU holding them to 35 points but about 3 of their starters averaged less than 3 points per game last year and another was a transfer. Looks like a real mismatched team. Their performance has been nothing special other than their shellacking of TCU. They've had a lot of easy wins over Blind Man's Bluff and really been beaten by the better teams on their schedule. They did beat Tulsa by 10 on a neutral(OKC) Court. The students will be away for Christmas Break-seems like if SMU really is a Top 75 or so team they should have a shot at them. Anybody seen these guys play.

Regardless of OU's team this year, this would be a real coup if we could come away with a win. Not only would we have to be recognized a little by whom ever it is that recognizes people, but it would be a tremendous confidence builder. My problem is that in all the play I have seen this year, our guards can not get the ball up court consistantly and our passing is suspect at best. Also, we are definitely not a "scoring machine", and must rely on defense to have a chance. When you turn the ball over as much as we do, defense gets too much pressure to survive.

That said, I will repeat what I have continually said, and that is that Coach Doherty is doing a very good job of maximizing the output with the talent he has and if they can solve this turnover problem then we can be much better than initially expected. However, I am very worried about tonight.

It looks like in the Tulsa game that OU distributed the scoring very well. As mrydel said, the turnovers are key and we can't get in foul trouble. If we play anything like that 1st half against TCU, we get drilled by 15-20 pts. Things really need to be clicking for us to have a chance.

I saw Oklahoma on TV against Villanova and they were totoally outplayed and overmatched. I would say we will have size advantage especially if Doherty goes Big, I like the Ike, Bamba, Drack Pearson and dez on the floor and see what happens..

Just a thought
