Better on-court performance, more w's brings...apathy?

So the Mustangs are 9-1. So the Mustangs play BigXII power OU tonight. So we get to see how they do against quality competition for the second time this year. And...So what, so it seems. Really, how often have we seen such little activity on the board for any sport? This time last year there were plenty of postings, most of them b*tching.

Yes, I know the schedule has been soft. But so was football's schedule. And SMU struggled to a .500 record, and there was plenty of Pony discussion.

What gives? The holidays? No students posting because they're out for the semester? Does 9-1 give us precious little to [deleted] about, so we sit on our hands?

We were able to start the bit*hing about football in September and October in the past. The real complaining did not get going until late November this year. And then the BB team has started well. Give it about 3 more weeks and we will all be complaining better than ever.

Dallas is not a college sports, especially not college basketball town, so casual fans aren't paying attention.

But in some ways many SMU fans are worse, because even when we're winning, we're not winning by enough, we're winning ugly, or we're not winning against the right teams so it doesn't count. We might as well be 1 and 9 instead of 9 and 1. Around here, the glass is never even half or quarter full -- always empty.

A true SMU fan's glass should be empty and held out for a refill.

Truth is that b*tching is a lot more fun and that's why there's a drop-off. If we lose by 20 in Norman tonight you'll be happy with the response on this board.

I'm definitely pleased with how the season has gone so far. After all we beat 2 solid teams in Illinois State and Dayton as well as a road game against rival TCU. If we can manage to win tonight that would be incredible. We would subsequently have about 4 or 5 easy wins and then the UH road game. Stretch the record to 14-1 or so and there's no reason we shouldn't be ranked. Too many uncertainties still though. Maybe that's the reason for the limited number of posts. Seems no one wants to come out and say this team stinks or this team is going to the NIT or NCAA's. Too many people are still trying to gauge where we stand. This team is unquestionably better than last years and looks to have the winning mentality necessary to close out nailbiters ala Dez at TCU. Last year that shot rims out.

this ain't anything-if you want to see some world-class bitching-a proverbial bitch-fest go to Baylorfans.com where they are committing Harry Carey over:
1)G.J. Kinne decommitment
2) decommitments of about 5-6 studs
3) the religiously oreinted support group known as Friends of Baylor who apparently are trying usher Morris out the side door and turn Baylor into BYU. They failed to extend his contract and have refused to build a promised football practice facility.
4) last season's meltdown after their QB got hurt

My solution is for Baylor to sign a long term Home and Home series with SMU.

How many 4 and 5* do they have coming in? I have noticed they are playing with the big boys in recruiting thanks to Drew.

Stallion its hari kari. Don't you just love spelling smack? Just so we can officially start the fire Doherty spirit of things, I thought it was up to a coach to motivate players. How dare they not go to a big game in a big arena ready to play. Coach D used to play post, he ought to be able to teach Ike and Bamba how to shoot a freakin hook shot. For those guys its basically a long range dunk. Doherty teach these big guys how to score points!!!!
