My first telivised look at this team...

I've listened to a few of the games, but I was able to watch the OU game on espn full court last night and I have to say, one of the most ugly basketball games I've ever seen--hs, college, or pro.

I am a die-hard smu fan in every sport, but watching this game with friends here in NC who have no loyalty to smu, i was embarrassed. and maybe we are spoiled watching ACC basketball here, but it was a painful game to watch, especially as an smu fan who made the bartender put one tv on smu while UNC was playing and NCSU was playing ECU.

At one point in the second half, we inbounded the ball and it bounced off Killen's HEAD!! out of bounds, OU ball. are you f*%@*ing kidding me?? in the first half, turnover that leads to an open layup and what do we do?? Light foul on the way up and a 3 point play. How can you play college ball and not know that if you're going to foul the guy on the layup, make sure its a hard foul so he doesn't also make the basket??

i can deal w/ OU being bigger and stronger, better shooters and more talented. But there is NO EXCUSE for them out-hustling us to every loose ball, every rebound. Little things I know, but they all added up to a seriously embarrasing effort.

I don't think you will get any argument from Coach Doherty on any of what you posted...but then almost everyone was predicting, preseason, that we were not going to be good...so perhaps we should not be surprised. We have played better games, but this team still needs a lot of work. It would be nice if we could blame OU's defense for our poor shooting percentage, but fact is we couldn't buy a bucket last night. Frustrating to say the least.
