Well I sat a few rows behind our bench last night, and we never showed any interest from the start. It's got to drive Doh nuts, we were 9-1 playing a name team on the tube, and chance to earn a little respect. We just walked out there, lifted the skirts and said, come and get it boys, we won't put up a fight. These players should be beyond embarrassed! My wife said at halftime....."it looks like we're in for yet another walk of shame to the car"

So was it really that bad? I mean, I know the outcome was bad. But, I'm directing this to anyone who was at the game. Did it just seem like the players couldn't give a crap less? I could only listen over the internet so I can't really say. If so, that's pretty disheartening.

Yes, it was. Go read the DMN article about the game and the rest of the 5-6 threads on here

The last time Coach Doherty got hacked off, he ripped into Derrick Roberts .... who responded with 19 points in his next game. Based on that track record, I predict a major butt-kicking Saturday against NCA&T.

I was there. I disagree that the guys didn't care. They looked like a herd of deer in the headlights with the exception of Killen. I thought he played one of his best games. We flat out got beat physically down low. I think Doherty would have loved to have seen one of our big men knock the crap out of someone even if they had gotten ejected for it. Word from the players was that they haven't seen anyone as big and strong all year as the big light skinned dude who dunked the put back early in the game.

We had our chances in the first half. I don't know how many point blank shots our big men missed. Rack must have missed at least 5 himself. We also missed our two fast break shots as well..............We can't dunk, we can't make fast break layups, and we never got position on rebounds. Adds up to a country [deleted] whuppin.....................

Doherty told the boys to get ready to run for two hours today.............

Doherty scares me. He seems very unstable. I like him.

Look at the picture of the OU player on SMUMUSTANGS.COM. They had a number of players that knew where the weight room was. After that first dunk, I think we had a few players that had a yellow substance running down their legs. You can call it "deer in the headlights" if it sounds better.

It's got to drive Doh nuts, (from alexlifeson)

There has got to be a marketing angle for driving "Doh nuts". Maybe we can get the big guys inspired and call them the Dunkin' Doh Nuts. Not quite Phi Jamma Slamma but you have to start somewhere.

That pretty well sums it up for the past 4 years unfortunately. You would think watching this team struggle to score against pittiful teams this year would have prepared us for this debacle.

hasn't this been SMU's trademark for years? Not physical enough, or not enough toughness, heart, etc... Clearly a physical mismatch last night, but didn't we all know that coming in? Did anyone REALLY expect to win? The issue is whether the guys fought as hard as they were capable of fighting. Long ago I suggested a theory that SMU's athletes tend to mirror the overall student population. A little too soft
