Unfortunately I think Summerall's time has past. He was hard to listen to today, unlike when he used to be one of the best in the business.
Here's to those that wish us well and all the rest can go to hell!!!

I didn't know the CB is still being played today? Guess they still kept their time slot on New Year's day.

New Year's Day isn't what its used to be. A few bowls that don't mean anything. Who cares except for the alums who went to the schools. They have a 24-hr Twilight Zone marathon today which is really good. Brings back great memories of growing up. Got a new monitor & watching the marathon as I hook this thing up.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

I think the most disinterested tag would have to go to the Colorado-Oregon Cotton Bowl a few years back.

Listening to Pat Summeral durge on with no interest whatsoever didn't help much.

I thougt Summerall sounded pretty good. Better than his last few pro games, I think.

It was a pretty good atmosphere inside the Cotton Bowl. Nebraska traveled well as they always do. Definitely outnumbered the Auburn faithful.

You're all jerks :!: Except the last 2 posts.

I see the Cotton Bowl game every year to remember all the great
SMU, and Longview playoff football games I've seen there plus the
one I watched today.

The Cotton Bowl game should be played every year in Fair Park even
if it becomes a Sunbelt Bowl. Let Jerry the Jerk Jones name his new
bowl somethin else :!: :!:

Even if it becomes bcs.

That was a great episode - wasn't it. I believe Burgess Meredith played that part. Here it is: http://www.tv.com/the-twilight-zone/tim ... ep_title;7

I attended the game with my wife's family from Nebraska and had a good time. I even routed for the Huskers. It might have been boring to watch on TV, but sitting in the sun on a nice day with a big crowd to watch two traditionally great football teams in a close, hard fought game was a great way to spend the day. I even got a few thumbs up on the SMU 1983 Cotton Bowl windbreaker that I was wearing.
