Good for Coach Morriss. Not that there's ever any reason to choose Baylor for .... anything, but 18 years old is not to young to understand the idea that if you're not committed to something, you don't give your word. It's absolutely fine for kids to be unsure, to wrestle with a decision, to consider every option about there, whether it's on picking a college/team, or whether it's picking what to have for lunch. If you make a commitment -- especially to a coach who's offering to invest 4-5 years' tuition in you -- you honor it. Period.

Except how many recruits that are committed elsewhere does Morriss chase? Coaches don't honor a kid who has committed elsewhere so why should the recruits be held to a higher standard? It isn't a contract and everyone knows it isn't binding, especially coaches.
Edwards will visit Tech and several other BU recruits will make visits elsewhere, how many of them get their offer pulled? Morriss trying to make an example out of Johnson, but in reality is just being a hypocrite.

The Richardson Berkner Coach is pissed and has banned Baylor coaches from his campus. Baylor has done very well at Berkner over the last few years. No specific mention of Johnson's options now other than the visit to UH but the Coach says Johnson has several options availiable. baylor was recruiting him as a Safety although he played QB in high school. He is generally an outstanding running QB in high school rushing for well over 1,000 in both his Junior and Senior season.

I think it is dead period. Stallion, is that right?

1. Quiet period, so coaches can't call kids.PonyOLineFan wrote:According to Rivals, Johnson holds a scholarship offer to SMU. Shouldn't Bennett

2. Recruits, I believe, can call coaches.
3. As teammates, LeRibeus and Johnson (and DT Adrian Campbell?) presumably are friends.
4. Can't LeRibeus get on the horn with a coach or three, get the low-down on points of focus, and then start recruiting his teammate?
Happens all the time, from what I gather. Big Josh led the way for Johnson on the field at Berkner .... now it's time to lead him (and Campbell?) to SMU!

No way this is an outstanding athlete who could probably play Division 1A football at 2-3 position.* Morris just got angry because this is about the 6th kid to look else where and decided to draw the line.
*Now Johnson was injured this fall but I have heard nothing to suggest that he won't fully recover
