Is it against the rules to bring in noise makers to a game? Two kids in front of me rang there bells off and on for 39 miuntes. With less than a minute left in the game one of the security guys came over and demanded them. I ask why he couldn't just ask them not to ring them and he did not respond. I hope the kids parents went and got them back when the game was over. Maybe it is against the rules, but you don't have to be rude when you enforce them.

Maybe they thought they were ringing them for the Aggies.

Another good move by SMU to get people to keep coming to the games. Brilliant!

Buckethead: last year I brought a cowbell to an SMU bball game and was told by SMU athletic officials that "artificial noisemakers (i.e. cowbells, horns, etc.) are prohibited by the NCAA at basketball games." I was only asked to not ring it any more. It was not confiscated.

The [deleted] took my red plastic horn. I got it back, but it still pissed me off.

..I don't like the bells. First, no tradition in them...Mississippi St. = yes, A$M = yes..smu = no, plus, most of the folks who bring things like bells and horns, need to go to Noise Maker 101....I say, "OK" for fball, but NO for hoops. Is the obnoxious ex band member chick who simply "screams" the entire, I mean ENTIRE bball game for no apparent reason still around??

In my Ford Stadium group, we have every noise maker available. Everyone else in our section seems to be in a comma though.

Hey, now! Don't pick on one of our best fans!
Funny - was sitting with husband of "obnoxious ex band member chick" Saturday night on the opposite baseline from the band. I did have to poke him and say, "that's your wife!" He said, "Yep. She's as loud over here; you just can't make out what she's saying."
Love ya, DiamondM!

Make as much noise as possible at a football or basketball game, folks. Do it by whatever means possible...stomping on the floor, banging on the seats, yelling, whistling, etc.

Hmmm...what's wrong with STARTING a tradition at SMU? Plus, most of the folks who complain at SMU sporting events about 'sitting down' and 'being quiet' need to go to Spirit 101.

I loved the cowbells during the football games. I need a new one as I broke mine at the Rice game. If not appropriate for bball, ok...we just need to be loud in other ways!

Thank goodness for the band. They were awesome at the A&T game. Without them, it would have been a seriously quiet arena...........
