With the language I used with them tonight they may discontinue SMU games anyway.

well, it's another win. Let's see if this team can win ugly in CUSA play. Hopefully they can find a way to play .500 in conference, but I'm not expecting much. Gotta beat USM Wednesday...that's another very inconsistent bunch. Beat Auburn and then lose to Savannah State?

I don't know if I want to make the tourney, it would be ugly...however I'll never root against my 'Stangs, and I hope they win every game out.

Brown was a typical Ivy League team. They were well coached, hustled all night, played a deliberate slow down game and packed the middle when on defense. It is easy to get sucked in to its slow, half court style of play. We had difficulty penetrating all night. According to Doh, our best play was to try a 3 and if it missed use our height advantage to put the ball back in. If not for our going totally cold shooting early in the second half, the game would not have been as close. Reality begins next Wednesday against S. MIss. Doh said he gave the team an A+ for the first semester of play. The second semester starts Wednesday and he knows it will be very challenging.

And by the way, the refereeing was "high school" or worse but was something we should have overcome easier than we did.

Disappointing..................We have chucked the offense and just started jacking 3's. I would be interested in seeing a shot chart breakdown of the first shot of each possession taken. I bet there's a bunch of black dots outside the 3 point line. We are in trouble if we don't rediscover how to attack the paint. Coach D and his staff need to go to work............

Would someone please find where the real Derrick Roberts has gone???? I don't know how many times he started to attack the paint only to pass it back outside. Killen does the same thing. Good grief..........

Oh, really cute pink uniforms on the players in their jumbo tron photos.......................Double good grief..............

Very weird offense - we had a half step and four inch advantage on everyone on the floor, but went around the circle forever before jacking up bad shots with 3 seconds left. We should have run [deleted] these guys - and pressed them in the second half - they only subbed in two players all night - I love Doh but he was asleep on this one. Lucky to win - we got out husseled all night.

The problem at guard will glare from here out - although I am optimistic about the future - as for this year we will be lucky to win five more.

16-14 would be an improvement over last season. I think we will do better in conference play.

forget the current record, its a mirage. this team is playing really bad right now, its obvious. how can anyone remotely like what they see the past couple weeks? I thought Roberts and Pearson disappearred last year...but they are practically non existent this year, even before pearsons injury. bamba has taken a step back. Killen is the same, maybe even less solid with the ball. after a nice start, Ike has fallen backwards lately big time. Rack is the same ole Rack. put it all together and its still a stagnant, ineffective offense, same as last year and previous. different x's and o's, same basic problems.

this is not a criticism of Doherty, i support him, think he's great for smu. But, it is what it is right now.

Chuckle...Chuckle...are we Duke? What a bunch of spoiled children. ANY win for this program is a good win, it is not lke we have a lot of experience in that category the last 2. 5, 8, 12 years. When was our last conference title? What? 92-93....last visit to the show? Hhhmmm? 7 winning seasons in the last 15.....we have a new coach, new system, new jock strap washing policy, new way to sit in meetings, etc., etc, and all we do is [deleted] and moan about an OT W over an Ivy league team....we act like a bunch of Alabama football fans sometimes..funny stuff....the Islamic Jhidists of college sports, the PonyFan board...radical fanatics, with foam trickling from the sides of their mouths.

Nice W, boys..thanks for something to cheer about. Long Live Keith Chambers.

yeah think positive-we are 1-0 in the Ivy League tied with Princeton who beat Rice 51-28 last night. Rice scored 28 points more than 5 Dead Men last Nite.

Wow, when an overtime victory at home over the 5-10 Brown Bears excites you, times are hard.

Well, DickerJames...when you (SMU) are the "one eyed freakin King of BLIND country", YES, an OT W over an Ivy League squad is somewhat of a nice moment. Have we sunk "low"...well hell yes...last championship season? Last NCAA journey? Last NIT run? yea, bro..it is fairly low at this point....where have you been hangin'?? I am actually feeling some love for this program and all we really get around here is a "[deleted] feast", because, you know, we ahh...well, we...., over the years, SMU has....., historically, SMU hoops has..........so, new coach, winning record, some nice play, let's [deleted] and cuss about everything from Bamba'a fall to some guy taking horns away from some 6 yr old to how [deleted] we are...??!!@!!? Long Live Bamba Fall.
