Now that is funny!

I think its a bit unfair to totally trash the powers that be with the schedule since we had to scramble to fill the extra slots due to the expanded schedule, but still a good quote nonetheless.

We all need to keep our sense of humor, being an SMU fan requires it!

Who cares? It's old news that the posters on this board thinks the coverage sucks. Bottom line-it is what it is and it ain't changing.

I believe your position is that we get the appropriate level of coverage (or better) based upon our level of play. So does your statement above mean that you think we aren't going to get better under Doherty?

I have no idea. I've seen this team play, and I do not think it is any better right now.

I'm a strong believer that Doherty has a lot of coaching skill and the ability to bring in talent. So we ought to see coverage improve as this team gets better.

How do you feel about the new recruiting class? It seems pretty clear that as a group they're a talent level we haven't seen around here in a while -- since perhaps the Sasser/Davis/Elsey class. And there's a clear uptick in coaching as Doherty's got blood out of a turnip early -- though the team does seem to have come back down to earth a bit of late. Conference play's going to be interesting. I had us under .500 in conference before the season began and haven't backed off it.

I don't know anything about them other then what I've read here which is not the most objective source from which to evaluate. I'll wait until I see them play and let you know.

I think Kate does a great job. My problem is with the higher ups.

That's fair and honest. But if you're truly unsure about this team, you shouldn't be making comments about DMN coverage like this: "Bottom line-it is what it is and it ain't changing." If we get good, we will get coverage.

I was looking at Rivals today, you can't help but be excited.
4 out of the 5 recruits are 3 stars and the other is a 2 star.
Hopefully we can pick up Katuka another 3 star power forward.

Anyone know how Brian Morris is doing after he transfered?

Well, I guess I don't care what you think about what I should and shouldn't be posting. But I am not unsure about this team. I've seen them play and I am not impressed.

Having a fantastic season in JUCO ball apparently. I remember seeing some big programs like A&M, Nebraska, Tennessee, Washington etc. SMU was in there too with tons of other small schools on the west coast. Wish he could have kept his butt in class while he was here. Once he started to get in shape he was turning into a pretty good post player.

I think I would rather have a PG who can break the press and not get the ball stolen, but I would settle for a 6'9" PF as a consolation prize.

Morris is a Top 10 JUCO recruit according to Rivals. And SMU's class is pretty darn good, but people that follow Rivals would probably agree that a 3* in BB is much easier to attain than a 3* in FB. Don't seem to mean the same quality in Basketball at least from my perspective. Maybe that's because there are 3 times as many teams but its pretty obvious. Or maybe SMU's Football recruiting has sucked for so long that it seems more difficult to recruit 3* in Football.
