The new marketing guy - Richard Sweet - has posted on Orsini's blog. He's pretty candid when talking about last night's game. I thought it was a good read.

Saw where someone posted a comment: "BRING BACK MEN'S TRACK!"
Nice thought, but Richard Sweet no longer runs track for SMU. He's now our marketing guy. While I'm sure he has sentiment for track, he knows there's only one sport SMU needs to add, and it's also a sport that could be successfully marketed and promoted:
"BRING BACK BASEBALL!"

I'm in favor of bringing back baseball, but we oughta bring back football, too. How many full/partial scholarships would it take to field a competitive baseball team? What does TCU offer in that regard?

NCAA baseball team gets somewhere between 11 and 12 scholarships to field a team (I forget the exact number- 11.58 or something close). This is why most baseball players only receive partial schollies.

Why don't we just start by bringing back big-time college football!

Don't forget you'd probably have to add Softball and a couple of other Women's sports to compensate for Title IX.

No to any non revenue sports. I would kind of like to see baseball but I do not see the marketing nor the market share that could be developed.
Spend on football.
