Conference Wins Over/UnderI place conference wins at 7. I'll take the over - barely.
We were 4-10 last year. Taking the over if its set at 7 is awfully optomistic. From 4-10 to an 8-8 or better CUSA record??? Yes we added 2 games but 1 is against Memphis (an almost assured loss) and 1 is Houston on the road(a much more talented team than us). CUSA is worse than I expected but I would be shocked to see 8 conference wins. I have been predicting 6-10 since the start of the season and I have got to take the under.
Last year we were 4-10 in conference and the two extra games are against strong teams. We lost Hopkins although if you recall he was not very good during the conference season. Marshall is much improved from last year (they beat Va. Tech and should have beaten GW). My gut says 5-11 and my heart says 6-10. I've said all along that this team has some flaws which can be expoited by a good team.
Sunshiner AlertI'll have to go with 8-8 and if they do well during the first round of
conference play I might pick 9-7. Just thought I'd give you critics a target.
Anyone have a change of opinion after our first 2 conference games? I feel like 6-10 is still where we will end up but I only saw the UH game and was unable to see us play So Miss.
might be time to reconsider those predictions. I was hopeful we could find 6 wins, but that preseason prediction that we'd be 8th or 9th of 12 teams is looking pretty generous. I'd say Tulane is now a MUST win and I'm havng difficulty finding the 6 wins I originally predicted
Well, as the season winds up 6 wins conference wins is now our absolute best case scenario. 5 games remain (1 vs Memphis which even at home we don't have a chance in hell at winning) including ECU and Tulsa at home which both look very winnable. I could see us beating Rice or UTEP on the road but wouldn't predict either. I think we will wind up with 4 conference wins before start of tourney play. Anyone else want to weigh in?
