Goneaway to UH?
rumor on the Rice board via the Houston board-that Terrance Ganaway has switched his commitment to UH-actually before Graham left. Graham supposedly trying to get him to visit Tulsa now. Is this what you would call "double message board hearsay"? Meanwhile Goneaway has an opportunity to join a elite club of 4 commitment players if he switches to Tulsa. I could use some help here on members of this club but I'll start it out with Ronald Morris(SMU) and Hart Lee Dykes(Oklahoma St).

Hmmm. Defending CUSA Champs and bowl game in 4 of the past 5 seasons (possibly 3 of last 4 can't remember). Great coach. Fantastic practice/training facilities. Promised him a shot to play his desired position. I would probably do the same in his shoes.

Hmm the best team in a [deleted] ant conference?
Great coach? Let's not get carried away there. Briles is a decent coach, I guess, who has access to athletes that few -- if any -- other C-USA coaches can recruit. He should win every year. Give him the same recruiting/academic requirements that the coaches at SMU, Tulsa, Tulane or (god forbid) Rice have to work with, and he'd lose 99 percent of his roster.

You make an interesting point there.

I would agree that SMU is a far better school than UH (I am from Houston and chose to attend SMU myself) but the "have fun working at a car dealership" jokes are lame. I hope I do not have to experience the shame of SMU students and fans yelling classless things like "you'll be working as a janitor at my company" as we walk out of Ford stadium after playing Tech this year, but I know once again I will. UH still provides a good education to students and football players there have good opportunities for jobs as our do.

Yes, the best team in a [deleted] ant conference. As in better than the 2 lesser teams he was considering from the same [deleted] ant conference. Also with opportunities to play better teams from better conferences with an actual shot at winning. UH beat Oklahoma St., lost at Miami by 1, and played S. Carolina down to the wire in the Liberty Bowl- all of whom from non "[deleted] ant" conferences.

That was my bad...sorry...I was in a bad mood about the basketball game..
But, and this is completely OT I know but there is definitely reverse snobbery out there...people love sticking it to SMU because of all the supposedly elitest and stuck up students/alumni that we are...just part of rivalries I guess...

I would completely agree with you that people stick it to SMU for that reason, I just prefer to not try and throw it back. A good friend of mine is the king of bitterly leaving home losses at Ford with jokes to visiting fans about valeting his car, mowing his lawn, answering his phone, cleaning his pool etc etc. Just embarrasses the hell out of me to get beat badly and have that to come back with.
My favorite sour grapes comment (I consider this by no means insulting to the opposing team by the way) I heard was at our homecoming game this year. Some UH fans cheering about a TD or some such and some woman yells out "Oh yah, well whats your graduation rate?!" as if we were watching an academic bowl or something. I would have laughed if it was a sarcastic comment because I'd think it was rather witty but she was dead serious. I can't wait for the day when we don't have to constantly be coming up with "oh yah's" to defend our losses because we are winning so much. Hopefully that time will come soon.
