My two cents:
If Ohio State has the same win loss record as SMU the last 20 years no one at ohio state would give a cr@p about dotting some "i", they would just want to win some f-ing games.

I believe it's in reference to the current head of the Mustang Band although, I thought he was Freshman '77.

This is stupid. I am aware of all the traditions blah blah blah, but its just a shame nobody takes it seriously like they would at a school such as Ohio State. I would love to sit in a packed Ford Stadium and have everyone up and cheering like that. I am not bashing anything about the school, just stating my opinion.

Do we really need to have this discussion on here?

While I agree some things can be improved, lets remember that the current staff doesn't have the same people or society or university around them that existed 30 years ago. It is not just a matter of director skill. Let's all try to be more constructive in our criticisms.

Y'all need to take the discussion to a different forum. This isn't the appropriate place. Also, 25 years ago, the band wasn't all male and we still played really well and loudly. Hazing? What's that?

I agree. I know I have had some issues with things that have happened lately but talking about it here can have some repercussions. Just something to keep in mind.

Then you are placing the blame in the wrong area, it isn't the traditions' fault nobody cares.

What? Is someone going to revoke my Diamond M Club membership? Fine.

See what I mean?

Used to be, the band was part of the athletic department. Hence, it would be entirely appropriate to discuss on this board.

Still is appropriate, as a matter of fact.

Back to the post, it was great to hear David Kastor on both trumpet solos.

Winning will cure alot of things, including interest in the games, traditions and joining the band! I am proud we even still have a band! Says alot about those students that do participate.
