Memorial Service for "Coach" Irving Dreibrodt

Post by DiamondM »

For those of you who would like to pay your respects and haven't heard through other channels, the memorial service for Dr. Irving Dreibrodt, director of the Mustang Band for 25 years who really put the Mustang Band on the map of college bands, will be held tomorrow January 26 at 2 pm at Highland Park United Methodist Church.

Both the currect Mustang Band and many band alums will be in attendance to sing Varsity to close the service inside and then will move outside for what will be a very moving tribute by playing the traditional Shanty -Varsity - Home.

Please come if you can.

I believe we'll be singing 'Varsity' inside, and outdoors, with Peruna in attendance, we'll be playing 'Shanty Town,' 'Loyalty,' probably 'Pony Battle,' 'Peruna,' and the Waring ending. And it will be a moving tribute to a great man who gave so much to the university.

This sounds like a fitting tribute to a truly great Mustang. Will there be a video available for those who cannot possibly attend this service?

Bergermeister, there's been talk about making a video, but I don't know for sure. Someone can let you know tomorrow.
