I'm glad to here he is actually enrolled at SMU as I have asked this question before. I assume since he was at the Naval Academy Prep School, which plays a junior varsity/ junior college type schedule he will be able to play this year. This guy is in effect the JC type DL prospect we have been hopeful we would get.

Exactly right. He said they played a bunch of JUCO or college "JV" types of teams.westexSMU wrote:.... So if I'm not mistaken, the DT rotation now includes this guy, Leonard, as well as Chris Parham, Dominic Pryor, Zac Thomas, Mickey Dollens and Charlie Berry, right? Am I overlooking anyone? I don't see an Adrian Haywood in there, but if this Leonard guy can play at all, maybe things are not quite as dire as I throught.

You are definitely being tongue-in-cheek, but I can't tell which direction. Are you saying they are regular joes or are you saying that everybody else thought the sky was falling, and it is?

Lighten up, Reaper. Parham sparked some optimism last year (before Bonds and Haywood took sole ownership of the two interior spots), Thomas and Dollens have both drawn pretty high praise from the coaches, Berry supposedly is in better shape than before and reportedly is focused/intense/whatever, Pryor is huge, up to 280-285 and athletic so maybe he can be productive as an interior pass rush guy, and this Leonard kid sounds like he has promise. Nobody is saying these guys are the Stroud/Seymour pair Georgia rolled out there a few years ago, but it doesn't sound like we're going to be rolling cadavers out there, either. Try being optimistic once in a while and having faith in our players and coaches. It's kind of enjoyable.Stallion wrote:Yeah I'd say Bennett successfully recruited 6 real live breathing homo-sapiens to compete for the job.
