Actually Doh made it in the BE as coach at ND, but stumbled at UNC where he was never accepted by the powers that be. But CUSA is the conference for second chance coaches, no dobut about it.

The CUSA is full of coaches that didn't make it in the big leagues for whatever reason: Penders, Davis, Doherty, Eustachy

Eustachy made it in the Big XII just fine until he decided he'd rather go to sorority parties and drink Natty Light than watch game film.

I'd say that National Coach of the Year award verifies that he made it, albeit temporarily, in the ACC as well.
