...and for that matter, jtstang, Stallion, and pretty much everyone else on the board not born in the 80s: go to the thread about the Mustang Band on Youtube. Click on the 1982 Arkansas game. Watch the last 10 seconds of the video, paying close attention to the size and sound of the band, then the size and sound of the crowd as the camera pans out.
A lot on this board remember that game like it was yesterday. Those years dictated that a lot of us would be a Mustang fan for life. It really is quite frustrating to see that and compare it to what one sees now. Perhaps this is what MM1965 is lamenting. Ford is nice, much better than Ownby, and it's good to be on campus and all, but it SUCKS with 10,000 souls there, the sun reflecting off of empty bleachers, and looking for "progress" after a 6-6 season carved out of a cupcake schedule designed to get us to a promised bowl game.
That being said, I think Orsini, Richard Sweet and Doh give us a ray of light at the end of the tunnel.
Richard Sweet KNOWS marketing. Have a conversation with him or correspond with him...I don't think it's all smoke and mirrors, as MM1965 opined on his blog.
