Special Teams

What has anyone heard about the special teams (not the kickers). Who's on them? How are they looking?

Comet is returning punts, and Jonas is returning kickoffs. Blake Warren is among those who will back up both. I think Trey Griffin might be in the mix too, if needed.

What about kickoff and punt coverages? Thats where I get real nervous sometimes. Would like to redshirt Avery Cleveland, Muse and Hall, but those are the type of guys we need on specials.

They seem to take all special teams very serious, they do not seem to use them to pacify the youngsters for a little playing time, mostly starters and good defensive guys that are mean and take extreme pride in special teams. Coach Fello the best special teams guy in the nation just look at the punt and kick return avg. from last year and from KState. The Simmonds kid from Oklahoma is an excellent snapper, supposedly has the best times in the WAC. His high school set some kind of national scoring record so he must be reliable and consistant. Cunningham coming back will be added plus. I hope to see a little razzle dazzle, I don't remember any fake punts or kicks last year. Bennett doesn't seem to be the fakery kind of guy.

We were in the top 10 nationally last year in one phase (punt returns?) Coach Bennett says his goal is to be top 10 in all phases. And he says the same thing as buspen, that Coach Fello is the best in the nation.

I hope to read evidence of his special teams coaching prowess Sunday morning. Just wish I could be in Lubbock to see it.
