The announcer on CSTV last night brought up the Tide and Cheeseburger NCAA investigation and said it was completed and that it was expected that there would be no serious penalties levied. I'll just leave it at that without getting into the other commentary. For the record he did not mention Tide or Cheeseburgers.
On another note, Gillen gushed about what a great coach Doherty is having coached against him in the ACC, and that the recruits we have coming in should have an instant impact.

I have looked to see if he occupied his mid-court seats in the blue section each game that I have attended and have not seen him yet.

If he was of course deemed a booster for giving Tubbs the burger money to give to the players, the University as part of its self-imposed sanctions may have decided to dissassociate with him. It would be fitting if old Max was also thrown under the bus.

Eastang, your well off the mark. Orsini has played golf with him and the school is seeking his continued involvement.
He gave money to the program to redecorate the coaches offices and other legitimate requests. It was those he considered inappropriate that got this mess started.
You couldn't be more wrong, so stop trying to churn the problem.
It wasn't Max, it was the coach. Yeah, the same one the was unprepared to handle, not just the recruiting, but the administrative responsibilities of the position of head coach at a Div I program. By the way, I had dinner last night (at the bar at Campessi's with our former basketball coach and he seems happy and had nothing bad to say about SMU. He is a great guy that was simply over his head!

If what you say is true, then why did the DMN report that he gave money to Tubbs to buy lunch for 2 players?

So did he give money to Tubbs for a legit purpose, Tubbs instead used the money for something else that was not legit and Max found out and turned him in? If not, does anybody know what really happened?

I guess we'll just have to wait until the investigation report is published by the NCAA, if at all. I was just guessing as to why he wasn't at the games. Thanks for letting us know that Max is still active behind the scenes.

Orsini asked Copeland to remove Tubbs before he comes, so Max was asked to give money to set up Tubbs. This occured. Tubbs removed in a way less likely to anger DISD, while we still get Doh and O.

The shot came from behind the grassy knoll.

This story is more like Connally turned around and shot Kennedy and then shot himself to cover it up.
