Really? Quinton Ross was listed at SMU at 6'6" -- the Clippers say he's 6'6".
Josh McCown was listed at SMU at 6'4" -- the Lions list him at 6'4".
Ugo Ihemelu was listed at SMU at 6'0" -- the L.A. Galaxy lists him at 6'0".
D.D. Lee was listed at SMU at 6'1" -- the Arizona Cardinals (are they looking at him?) list him at 6'1".
Some numbers might change -- and it happens with atletes from more schools than just SMU.
But let's not act as if it's a university-wide policy, huh?

here's my $.02:
Justin Rogers will be the first Mustang drafted since Kevin Garret, he is just too talented and pass rushers are always in demand. He'll go somewhere, probably around rounds 4-6.
I'm also the biggest fan of Adrian Haywood. His injury at the end of the year will hurt him, and I'm not sure if he'll get drafted (workouts will make or break him), but I predicted during the football year that he'd stick with an NFL team. At worst, I think he's got a great shot to be on a practice squad next year. He looks to me like a nice 4-3 pass rushing defensive tackle in the NFL.
Joey Sturdivant will definitely get a look as an UFA, and has a shot to be on a practice squad as well.

Justin is a great football player and a great person... i remember the first day he showed up to summer workouts and couldn't believe he played d-line... after his injury this year im happy he is getting looked at. im not sure though if he will get drafted. i think he has the talent to get drafted, but looking over the rankings on some of the DE's in the draft (he isn't ranked as a "draft" DE anywhere i have looked) i dont think that he will. either way i hope he does, he is what PB and SMU want as the face of our program. and every kid that comes to SMU should look at what him and Joe have done for our program

you are probably right expony, he probably wont, but you never know how workouts will push him. I think that if Justin and Adrian played their senior years at a Big 12 school that each would get a lot more consideration, but drafted or not, they're 2 of the best players to come out of our program in a long, long time IMO, Sturdivant too.

depending on what justin weight is and how well he runs his 40, he could slide him up to a late 6th or 7th... and i agree if he played against better teams he probably would have a better chance.
looking at past players to be drafted or picked up as free agents:
KG ran the fastest 40 time out of all the DB's the year he was drafted; however, he wasn't somebody who spent a lot of time in the weight room... so even though he had a good wing span, it became pretty much useless while pressing. had he had any uper body strength he could have gone higher.
Sterling who was picked up by the Browns (on size, not ability) as somebody who they thought they could teach to play tackle. i watched a couple of his games when he played for the galaxy, and it was just terrible... i think he's having more fun now anyways
Jonas although he was a great kick off returner he had absolutely NO coverage ability and TERRIBLE speed (or else he would have lead the nation in KR's for touchdowns). I saw him when they scrimmaged the cowboys (although he didn't play much, and was cut the next day), he just couldnt keep up with NFL wr's

I hope you're right, 311, when you say Haywood sticks somewhere. Personally, I think Rogers has the best shot, if he gets in the right system, but like virtually everyone on here, I'm rooting like hell for all of them. The other guy who hasn't been mentioned here who COULD have a shot -- in the right system -- is Ryan Kennedy. Big guy, decent speed, great hands. We all know better than to say any of these guys is a shoo-in, but I'd like to think they're all possibilities. Good luck, guys!

Assuming he is healthy Jesse Henderson will be a very high draft pick next year. He is a gret kick returned who will be highly coveted since teams have seen what the Bears have done.

I sit in the stands every home game wondering why in the world the coaches don't get Henderson more touches as either a WR or RB. If nothing else put him in the slot and hit him with a quick pass, reverse, anything. He really needs to touch the ball more than twice a game.

Especially since this will be just his junior season -- is he really going to be the first Pony to leave EARLY for the draft? Even if he goes crazy the next two seasons, I don't know that he gets drafted. Freaky speed and all, he's still short and has the "level of competition" argument against him.
Sure would like to see him get a shot, though.

Leave early? wow...I dont think so. He'd have to have an incredible year next year, I'm talking undisputed number 1 return man in college to do that, and then he'd have a chance of getting drafted, and it'd be as a 6th-7th rounder strictly for returns (but if the Cowboys drafted Skyler Green in the 3rd round, who knows???)
As far as Kevin Garrett, whoever said above that he didn't work out a lot is correct. Apparently even with the Rams, he avoided the gym like the plague, and that was a big reason he was cut.

once again on the skylar green comment, he actually was a fairly good wr in the SEC, NO WAY henderson leaves early AND gets drafted... he's got talent but that's a lot to draft a specialist... and thanks for backing me up on the KG comment
