We need help!In a year when we have just been SWEPT BY RICE, all I can say is we are in desperate need of help if we are even going to maintain the loyalty of the 1500 (do we even have that large a base of hard core fans anymore?)
I think Doherty's 1st class at least gives us hope, but we are years away from knowing if this hoops program can be rebuilt to the level we old timers so fondly remember. As for Bennett, we all know 2007 is the year we find out whether his (now mature) recruits will get the job done and save his job. It's getting harder and harder to stay interested, but we die-hards don't give up easily. Good effort by a grossly undermanned hoops team last night. Three guys played a full 40 minutes. Ouch. Swept by Rice in 2006/2007. I need to start playing more golf.
groovy owl said.... We're #4 in the conference. You should probably be more embarrassed about being swept by #10 UTEP
With Almond Joy gone, you guys will probably flip with UTEP next year.
We're definitely going to struggle. Lorenzo Williams, our 2nd-best player, is a senior too. So is Greg Killings, our best big guy, although he's missed the last several games with injury. To top it all off, our home games will be off-campus while they rebuild Autry. I won't be surprised if we take ECU's place. So if we sweep you again next year, then you should be embarrassed.
we need jucos - it's tough to "bring moody back" with this effort, bad luck (injuries), and lack of scoring
CP, I've been a diehard hoops fan, but this is the least interested i have been ever since i gradudated in '92.
Nobody should be surprised at this record! We struggled against some poor, pitiful teams during our "tournament bound" 10-1 or whatever start. From the players on this team, we might, just might, have one starter in Ike on most teams. This team would struggle to go undefeated against a 3rd tier JUCO league. I appreciate the guys working their asses off and what not, but the fact of the matter is that most don't belong on a D-1 team.

You could play 2-on-5 and hold home games in Bangor, Maine, and still be better than ECU. They're absolutely horrible.
I am somewhat encouraged Doh is not loading up with Jucos. If he was, it would lead me to believe he was wanting to jump ship even faster.
I think that is what Penders is doing, loading up on Jucos, get a good year, then get out. Wouldn't mind if we got a solid juco with the last 2 ships we have to give though!
it'd be nice just to balance the class a little, i like having a few openings each year, not 1 or 2 one year...then a sudden jump to 7 or so openings Dallas Mavericks - 2011 NBA CHAMPIONS!
Long live the Circle of Champions!
