Texas has been No. 2 in the production of Division 1A talent for several years now-Dallas has lead the pack. 74 Texas players have already signed in the early signing period. Right now that's the most signed players from any state in the United States. That "hotbed' of college football North Carolina has only 24 and I believe at least 5 of those are really Prep schools like Hargrave Academy and Laurinburg Prep. Yes its much easier to get top BB talent both in Texas and across the Nation in BB because of the BCS control over college FB.

Now that you all have stated that the basketball talent in Texas is on par with California and New York, the questions that still need to be answered are this.

1. Can we sell our school, program, and conference to blue chip basketball recruits?

2. Who makes the "choice" or decision within the university to put more emphasis in building a powerhouse basketball program? Turner? Board of Trustees? Athletic Department? All of them?

3. What roadblocks to we face in building a powerhouse basketball program?
