Attendance was pathetic - it might have been the worse attended game of the year if the pikes hadn't showed up at halftime. New cheerleader outfits looked much better. Ike was the man and if he had hit his free throws and some early 2 foot shots, he would have had 40. We had 9 points with 5 minutes to go in the first half.................Tulsa's young guards looked good.

I heard that attendance was adversely affected by the Texas-Texas A$M game that was televised. :?

Just objectively watching the two teams play without regard to shooting percentage, effort, turnovers, etc., it was painfully obvious that Tulsa was the quicker, more skillful and more athletic team by a big margin. It played a lot of very good freshman. Probably what our team will hopefully look like next year. We gave a good effort but there was no way we could win the game unless Tulsa lost its shooting touch. Tulsa shot close to 50% and out rebounded us although it did have more turnovers than us (surprise). The main reason the score got close at the end was a failed strategy by Tulsa once it got up by 15 to use up time on every possession without giving itself a chance for a high percentage shot.

I agree and thought we looked well coached. Great team defense for the most part against much better athletes. I've never seen so many missed open shots. We'll take our lumps next year too but at least it will be because we're playing a lot of inexperienced freshman
