I ready for the end

Postby Sam I Am » Tue Mar 06, 2007 5:58 pm

Although I am not unhappy with the team for losing so much, I am ready for this season to be over. We need to get on with the rebuilding process and look forward to better times next year or sometime afterwards. I believe in coach Doh and hope that the ponies can win a game or two on conferecne tournametn. Either way, let's move on.

As the season does end I was wondering, does Vic handle the strength work for BB also, or is he strictly with the FB players. Just wondering.

http://www.pegasusnews.com/news/2007/ja ... -strength/

"Former SMU linebacker Vic Viloria has returned to the Hilltop as the Mustangs' new Head Strength & Conditioning Coach." i think Head would mean every sport... but chuck didnt do anything and he was the head strength trainer so who knows

Or perhaps his job is to strengthen and condition heads.

Gee another post de-railed. Was Vic's predecessor handling strength and conditioning for all sports? I think the swimming coaches for example have their own strength and conditioning regimens. It would take a unique coach to be able to deal with that for all sports. I remember my high school tried that one spring and had universal conditioning for the baseball team, the track team, the tennis team and the golf team. The baseball players (me included) complained about sore arms and that ended the program. The Golf players griped about it in general (why did they need to be in shape. look at the guts on some of the pros). Distance runners complained about leg presses. So, one shoe does not fit all sports.

Most strength & conditioning coordinators (coaches) work primarily with football, and oversee the programs their staff puts together for the other sports. Vic said that while his assistants will work with other teams, he will look at every workout designed for SMU athletes in all sports. His focus will be the football team, but he'll keep tabs on all of them.

USM grants me the end of the season

Postby Sam I Am » Wed Mar 07, 2007 11:52 pm

Well, I am not happy about losing to USM in the conferecne tournametn, but the season has ended so I am glad to get on with needed rebuilding. Here's to a better 2007-08 season.

No he doesn't. They have their own guy. Coach Courtney, I think. That might not be his name, but I am almost positive they have their own guy.
