I havent heard anything specific but something needs to be done....it looks terrible as is...someone had mentioned that the new or refurbished floor might resemble the floor plans from the new Crum Center

So other than the scoreboard and new floor, what other things will be done to Moody?

I had understood (or misunderstood) that the offices around the concourse would be relocated and those areas would be opened up. New concession areas, improved lighting, TV monitors and a new lettermens lounge. Also, a building expansion with an alternate entrance on Binkley with high ceiling, glass - architecture to complement Crum Center - SpiritWear Shop - display cases - etc. And, a general cleaning of the Moody facade. Hopefully, somebody will come up with a more attractive way of displaying the historic banners in the coliseum - overall pretty tacky. I think there may be a Starbucks, too.

The big question is when they will put in luxury boxes for the high dollar donors? This is where a lot of schools are really getting the big bucks. Ford Stadium has 20 or more luxury boxes. It will be interesting to see if Moody gets a future remodeling to include these boxes and how they will be configured.

I agree. I think there's probably gotta be some way to display them better.
I guess, if they're planning on doing the floor before renovations, they won't be able to fix the fact that the court is off-center. I never noticed until we got the enormous scoreboard. Am I the only one that cares?

It only bugs me if I sit on the baseline. From sideline seets you don't really notice.

While the scoreboard and new floor are definitley a good start, there is still a lot that needs to be done to bring Moody up to date, or at least into the mid 90's. A new paint job (however as was mentioned in the football uniforms thread, SMU needs to decide once and for all on a consistent color scheme first) would be my next step, followed by getting some nice new banners for past achievements, as someone else already stated. We should also add some luxury boxes to the top of Moody on both sides, this would give us a new source of revenue for the program, and it's not like we're filling all the seats anyways- and the luxury level at Ford always seems full. We should also tear out all the old seats on the main level and replace them with some new plastic seats, and maybe some leather seats for a donor's section at midcourt. I'd like to see the students concentrated all along the courtside across from where they are now, instead of splitting them up since CUSA doesnt allow students directly behind opposing benches. We could also put a student section on the baseline by the visitors bench to keep them company during the game, of course getting the students THERE should probably be the first priority.

The new scoreboard is centered in the building. It's the current court that it not centered on the floor. This happened back when the blue seats went in (86-87?). As I understand it, the new floor will be centered under the scoreboard. Along with some other changes that were not finalized last time I asked.
