Very good point but he is getting the SMU name out there although it is probably better exposure for him than SMU

Maybe parents of a potential recruit may be watching. If nothing else, it is pretty impressive that little 'ol SMU's coach is on CNBC. Any earned media for SMU is good media.

Who was the last SMU coach that had this much attention from the national media? Let's make that positive attention from the media.

1. what kind of backgrounds do "most" college athletes come from, probably not the kind that are sitting at home watching cnbc 2. yes he's been getting a lot of pub, but the more pub the more likely he is to leave

When in the last 20 years have we had a coach poached by a bigger program?

And if news stories are to be believed, Bliss knew that the NCAA gestapo were nosing around his program which was about as clean as the football program was then. Had he stayed, he might have gotten slapped hard for violations which could have hurt his long term career. He got gone while the getting was good. He got to coach almost 20 more years before he finally had a situation where he could not avoid scrutiny. We were good in basketball because we were paying players just like we were doing in football. I am very happy Doh is getting us some publicity and that he seems to be doing things the right way. As for CNBC, I think your average sports fan and lower income working stiff probably misses that channel. Now if he got interviewed on VH1 or MTV, that would be great for recruiting.
