That leads me to ask who was hot in 1990? I have this feeling I know this. Just can't think of it.

West, in real life the offense did not look that sharp. JWill did not have a good day, and his passes were inaccurate. Most of his passes were of the shorter variety and off target. Hopefully, this is due to his hand injury and a lack of practice while on the mend.

Slater threw a couple balls over 55 yards in the air. One of them was approximately 65 years (yards). Of course they were not caught. At least he was getting the ball down field. He will be an able backup should we need him.

I can't wait to see Aldrick in the lineup. We need more speed at WR. Either our DBs have gotten faster or the WRs are still not fast enough. There is not enough separation on the fly routes to allow for long completions which will stretch a defense. Here's to hoping Givens gets his grades right and gets well soon. Also, was Burley hurt. I thought I saw him on the sidelines. Doesn't he have decent speed also?

Is Zac Sledge going to be our deep threat this year? He is the "All American Hero" and all, but if he is our deep threat at WR I see a lot of defenses stacking the box to stop the run.

tha all american hero seldom makes the catch on deep balls. when you have zack zimmerman, a 4.6, 6'0 165lb walkon receiver getting free on deep post routes, kind of makes ya wonder about our safties.

Strodtman, etc.)

I did not think Martin was impressive at all and people keep praising him like he is going to run for 1000 yards this year. He still thinks he is quicker than the opponent and in actuallity he is not he is bigger, thats it. He had a few runs that he made it look like he had picked up 7 or 8 yds with his jumping around but he only picked up around 2 or 3. He needs to lower his head and get up field. I still think Ced and James are better backs for the job. What really set me off and this subject was the article in DMN about martin looking good when out of the big three he looked the worst! Mapps doubled him up on yards with fewer carries and Ced seems to run much much harder than Martin! Ok im done now

If he's healthy, Martin will crack 1,000.

I will give Slater credit for throwing some nice deep balls-on the other hand he made some very bad decisions and threw way too many poor passes and played a part in at least 2 fumbles to be considered a quality starting Division 1A QB in my opinion. Has he ever performed up to Bennett's high praise of him-because every time I see him he consistently looks like a Division 1AA QB. And I note in the Rivals report that Rhodes may have more shoulder problems a recurring problem for him leaving us short on QBs(no pun intended).

Lol no he wont! And also the key there is "if he's heathy" this guy couldnt stay healty if he lived at a hospital. Also im tired of guys saying "if he's healty he..." lets see him get healthy and stay that way. Im basing my belief's on what i saw saturday and he didnt look good to me.

Maybe Bennett is praising Slater so much because he knows that Willis is injured and will not be able to play up to last seasons standard. After the scrimmage I am very concerned about Willis.

I have to agree with you drs1310. Mapps, and Dorsey are better suited for our offense. Mapps has got great quikness and is a threat to break a long one every time he touches the ball. He's not going to run over anybody, but hey Martin has got 50 pounds on him and I haven't seen him run over too many people. If Martin would lower his shoulder and run with some authority he might be capable of doing what everyone out there says he can do, but I haven't seen it. Dorsey is the most complete of the three, he can do it all. I think we should use a committee approach. Use Martin short yardage situations, Mapps and Dorsey as more of our every down backs.
