See the blog on SMUMustangs.com for his response to the uproar on the Boulevard. You have to respect the man for addressing the issues head on even if you do not like the answers sometimes. He certainly is not hiding or ignoring the "masses".

as much as some of you are mad he's got a good point... everyone here wants a top 25 program, and he's doing what top 25 programs do (make money)... as long as the money is going to the program....

lets say that we become a a top 50 or 40 team in the next 8 years, and in doing so we start selling out games (with smu fans). There would be some major issues that need to be addressed regarding the 'Vard. He's being proactive, so that later there won't be problems as the Ponies start to draw bigger crowds. and i know everybody is complaining that it's a 600% increase, but realistically it's not that much (especially if you get a group together).

I'm glad we have an AD who finally lets the fans know whats going on and gives reasons for why he's doing what he's doing... even though we might not always agree.

in closing, I can't wait for the season to start so we can all start talking football rather than politics and policy

If it takes 8 years to make it to the top 50, there aren't going to be enough fans left to worry about. When to reach top 25? In 15 years? PK will need to be airlifted to games by then.

Not sure airlifted is the correct term...more like vacuumed into place. The good news is that an urn of ashes doesn't take up much room...I'll just sit in jt's lap.

Sort of Monty Python like in my opinion. At their reunion show they brought out an urn for the one deceased cast member and of course knocked it over spilling all the ashes on the ground which a cleaning woman vacuumed up. You might think about sitting on someone's lap. One great touchdown bomb and those ashes will be floating all over Ford Stadium. Why not just request that your ashes be scattered in the gardens at Ford Stadium? That way you'll be close to your beloved Mustangs forever. Hey, that could be another fundraiser ploy for the athletic department. Have a columbarium at Ford for dead ponyfans ashes. $10,000 gets your ashes at Ford forever with a bronze plaque.

I would plan for the price to be 500% higher than that. When we enclose the south end-zone to handle the 45,000 crowds we need this put under the scoreboard.

Personally, I like it.

Hi Derek! My name's Little Cletus and I'm here to tell you a few things about child labor laws, ok? They're silly and outdated. Why back in the 30s, children as young as five could work as they pleased; from textile factories to iron smelts. Yippee! Hurray!

I disagree. Ole Miss has the #1 tailgating scene according to ESPN, and yet tailgating there is completely free, and packed every game (just like their stadium - which is twice the size of Ford).

So no, charging people to tailgate, and in general, just making tailgating as difficult as possible is not the way to being a "top 25 program."
